Her expression doesn't change except some amusement flickers across her grey eyes, before she finishes another drink.
"God Damn it Light your making my Liquor look like pish, will you slow down",
she glances at the frustrated barman
" Paddy luv, you just don't pay me enough to sit here sober, now fill 'er up."
Turning back to Eric, she raises an eyebrow,
" The name is Light."
English
-
"Light... That's a pretty name. I'm Eric, Eric Stratos, nice to meet you." Eric extends his hand out to shake while keeping an eye on the barkeeper, which he returns. When he's far enough away, Eric whispers, "I get the vibe that the barkeep over there would spit in my drink if I wasn't one of his best customers. What'd you do to get on his good side?"
-
She raises her eyebrows and looks at his hand, considering what he's had on his mouth, she didn't really want to shake his hand, not wanting to seem rude, she offers her other hand which is always gloved. "Light Monroe, pilot and the procurer of rare spirits,"
-
His eyes light up when he hears the position of pilot, and one of his eyebrows raises, "Pilot you say? Same here; 101st Air Division, Helljumpers. I've been a pilot sinc- Oh, sorry about that." Realizing that he left her handshake hanging, and that she had made a conscious gesture to switch hands, he does the same, shaking with his other hand instead. "Well, that's why I drink so much, anyways. Loosening up the tongue helps you get to know the people who you're flying to their deaths. Makes it a little easier when they pass too, though the hangover usually deals with that soon after."
-
A sense of recognition and understanding flashes across her eyes. " I specialise in extraction and retreval ,so been to all the best locations, and small speciality commercial shit to full in between times. It's my beeper that goes when the sht hits the fan."

Edited by GingerlyWalnut3: 12/29/2015 9:12:56 PM
Lol, my notifications are seriously -blam!-ed up. Just got this
Eric nods, "I'm usually issued for troop deployment, lighting ops, that stuff. I'm a fair fighter pilot, but for some damn reason I'm always assigned to help get some boots on the ground... And then get the hell out of there. Once, actually, my dropship was hit, and I was the sole survivor of the contingent of men... As a pilot. Since then, I've tried not to get hit, but it's not always successful."
-
She clenches her jaw going kinda pale, before draining her drink and hurrying Paddy to pouring her another. " Yeah I know" she says quietly
-
He notices, "Oh come on Light, I can't be that irritating..." Thinking about what he just said, he amends that statement, "Can I?"
-
she sighs and shakes her head, she had forgotten the joys of pilot ego, " yeah Eric cos its all about you"
-
Realization dawns on Eric, and he leans back on his barstool. "You're implying that the world doesn't revolve around me?... Sorry, I have been a little selfish. Tell me about yourself."

-
"Yeah... I've always been arrogant, but back then I thought that I was hot shit in the cockpit, that nothing could ever hit me. Fresh out of the Academy, first few ops went stellar, and, well, next thing y'know I'm bleeding out miles behind enemy lines. I was only carrying two or three marines, nobody I knew, but I can tell by your face that you weren't so fortunate."

Edited by ChaiseShadows: 12/30/2015 11:53:52 AMHer expression has hardened, but the haunting is still there in her eye's. " First solo off world flight, I was commissioned for a small passenger craft. 5 civilians , a woman her son aged 15, her daughter aged 10. They were going to see the husband who was stationed at the colony base. The other two were supposed to be engineers heading to the base.". she pauses to finish her drink. As another one is presented to her . " The Two engineers turned out to be escaped convicts from 'Darkside,' God knows how they got off that rock it's meant to be impossible . Not that it matters , they did , and they wound up on my transport. Once we were outside the recall boundaries, and too far for in an assist. All hell broke lose , they took the boy a shoved him out the airlock. They rãpëd and tortured the girl and her mother, went on for 2 days.....she stops and has another drink

He puts down his glass and sits in silence for a second, processing the rather killjoy story. It was a far more explicit tale than his, which made him feel... What did it make him feel like? His dream from the previous night still bothered him, the one with the tall man who had berated him on his behavior. When had he become so insecure, so brazen and rude? Perhaps it was time to be a little more heartfelt. "I-... I'm sorry Light. That sounds horrible, and I'm sorry for bringing up bad memories."
-
Light continues to stare into the distance. " Not your fault , only one person who is responsible for the mess that went down."
-
"Doesn't mean that I can't feel for you. It wasn't your fault either, Light. How could you have expected those inmates to real out, or what could you have done to stop them from doing what they did? You would've gotten yourself killed, and those poor victims stranded with those monsters." He stands up, sliding some credits to the paddy as he does. He walks over to you, puts a hand on your shoulder briefly, and then begins to walks away. In all honesty, Eric had begun the spectacle in the hopes of getting someone to warm his bed at night, but Light... Well, she had a wit to match his own, and a dark history. Perhaps he still felt for her, but not so promiscuously anymore. "See you around, Light."

Now she's just glad she didn't finish the story. Why him , she didn't know , she thought for a moment she saw something... She goes back to searching for relief in the bottom of her glass, she's losing the fight and she knows it. As he gets up to leave a small dry smile curls the corner of her mouth. well done Light you know how to keep them at bay. " Night Eric " she finishes her drink and starts the next one. Letting her eye's roam over him as he walks away . " And Thankyou " once she's sure he's out earshot
