MIDA NERF CONFIRMED IN 2016 UPDATE

The last good primary has finally fallen victim to pvp's archenemy: scrubs calling for nerfs. It's a sad day for Destiny pvp. A moment of silence as we mourn. :'( Quote from Luke Smith: "We never intended for pvp to be dominated by any single weapon. It's clear that with the recent changes, other primaries just don't measure up. Hats off to our development team for creating this beast. It's sad to say, but the MIDA is just too good. Something must be done. Oh and don't think we've forgotten about snipers either. 1000-yard Stare has seen a spike in usage since the December update. We're working to tone that down a bit as well. Our goal is for all weapons types to have their niche. But this sniper in particular can outperform just about every other secondary in any given situation, and that's simply unacceptable. You can expect heavy reductions to accuracy, and a few other surprises I can't mention yet. We're hoping that by the end of January, pvp will be so diverse, you'll never get killed by the same gun twice in a row. That's always been the goal." Planet Destiny Nerf Announcement: https://youtu.be/3KANI2dpXLw Bungie Official Twitter announcement: https://twitter.com/bungiehelp/status/647079030525571072

 • As a Day One player, who will most likely never come back to this game after the incessant amount of nerfs and unnecessary changes, this is quite possibly the biggest joke I've ever seen. Year1 MIDA was a niche weapon used at a time when Suros, Thorn, TLW, Red Death, etc., all had ridiculously high use rates by the player base. When someone used a MIDA they were most likely the only player using it in that match. Hell I remember going into ToO matches when it was first released and used MIDA and received messages from people being impressed that I wasn't part of the large thorn and TLW user population. Now it's an OP weapon, not because the gun shines so incredibly bright (although it will always be my favorite gun in the game), but because the devs and Bungie have repeatedly nerfed weapons. The worst part is these nerfs rarely balance anything, but rather bring a new weapon to the top. Bungie needs to go back, erase the nerfs, reinstate the original game's weapon stat bases and use all the information from then to now to make one final change to weapons. Wipe your hands and tell the community to suck it up.
