People are already crying for a nerf of the Mida, which hasn't had a buff or nerf outside of scout rifle class tweaks since Day -blam!-ing 1 of Destiny. That's why this game will never be balanced.
It's overused now because it just came to Year 2 and Xur just sold it. It's a new gun to all of the new Year 2 players but Mida's always been a solid, balanced weapon.

It actually did get a buff in year one in the form of the bullets causing staggering. They added that in the first large exotic weapon balance patch.
