Sales beg to differ. Only game that beat it that year was CoD. Bc we all know their fanboys throw money at the screen more then Destiny players. You keep throwing $60 to get the same, lame ass game. Over and over.
And those games didn't revolutionize anything? Start with Halo. Health regen system and radar. Which everyone ripped off of that remotely made an FPS game, period. Thanks Halo!
GoW1. Best story, hands down of the series. Best MP. And it brought new light not only to 3PS. But, to the whole duck and cover system. Didnt revolutionize then though.
Red Dead Redemption. Best story of any Rockstar game to date. Only one that comes close to most RS fans is LA Noire. GTA hasn't done that since GTA 3.
CoD4 MW. Is what started the Phoenix revival of that series,period. CoD would not be doing as good as it is without it. Again, like GoW1... Best story, best MP of any CoD in the series.
These aren't opinions, they are fact. You have yours, yes. As do I. And I will agree BF BC2 was amazing. My most played BF game to date. I adore that game and want BC3 like crack.

You also know that I never said those games you said were bad. COD4 was the best in the series. Gow3 was much better than gow1. Better movement, gunplay, more competitive scene, better MP...but that's just me I'm only a die hard Gears fan, what do I know? Yeah I was just spewing false shit. Yup. Even though I clearly stated that was how I felt about Skyrim. And what do I get? A guy trying to justify his opinion with sales lmfao. And the comments I made weren't to prove GotY games to be the best. Reread your own comment. You asked me how skyrim , or, any of those games revolutionized anything. And I came with facts on how they did. You asked for that. I'm not being aggressive or angry. I'm just trying to prove MY point. I've been on bungie.net since Halo 2 came out. IE 2004. It's now 2016.. I'd say a decade plus makes my opinion somewhat feaseable to an extent. Not trying to sound pompous myself, or have an ego. But, I'm one of these small couple handfuls of people still here from way back when. I'm one of those who are just sitting here laughing sooo hard at these forums burning.
