If you don't like it, you have multiple options that are superior to complaining.
1. You can leave relevant portions of the site.
2. You can mute people.
3. If you really want to, you could report people and see if they get banned for spam.
Complaining does nothing.

I thought they don't ban for spam anymore. Could we get that back onto the CoC? Where's Archronos?

I think the definition of spam is more loose than it used to be, but people have been banned for posting TR-8R a lot in a post.

I'd like to go back to the whole, "If it's not contributing to the discussion then it's spam." thing.

I'm not entirely sure I agree. People used to be banned for joke responses and for being "offtopic" in a thread with no real purpose. I think there should be some leeway, at least for amusement purposes.

I'm fine with some wiggle room. But right now the spam can be pretty overwhelming. While this place has been getting better in the last couple of months it still needs some work.

Indeed. I don't know how much better it can get with the way the site is now. There's only so much they can do without doing another overhaul of site mechanics. At least, I assume that's the case.

Yeah, I suppose all we can do is wait and see. And report. I'll try reporting spam more often and encourage some of the other more respectable users to do the same.
