G-Guardian? Why? In my fading light I recall events that led me here. I found him on Mars, buried deep in the sand dunes. Words could not describe the connection I felt with him. I had his back and he had mine. The first missions we ran only strengthened that. After our first high value kill, we felt unstoppable. More and more missions followed until finally, the Vanguard contacted us. A mission that only we could accomplish. We found ourselves on Phobos, supposedly here to clean up powerful taken. We tracked a Wizard to a deep crater and my guardian carefully laid down, took out his sniper, and took aim. My vision grew fuzzy as many taken wizards appeared all around us. A trap. My guardian yelled for me to run, so I teleported a safe distance away to watch. Experienced as he was, he was overwhelmed. But to my surprise, they stopped attacking as soon as he was disarmed. Yelling for them to fight, my guardian started to run to the nearest wizard. He then stopped suddenly. His body grew ridged and he was lifted several meters in the air. The Wizards had their arms extended. For what seemed like an eternity he floated in the air in agony. Then, the Wizards started disintegrating, as if their life force was giving out. One by one they fell until there were no more. He fell to the ground. I appeared beside checking his vitals and asking if he was ok. After multiple heavy breaths he said he was fine. We went back to the tower and to the Medical Bay. After a couple of days he was released. We went to his quarters and rested. I'm the middle of the night. I heard more him tossing and turning. Low moans of agony escaping his mouth. I didn't notice it at the time, but he had a sickly glow to him. He then fell back to sleep exhausted. The following morning I urged hime to go back to the Medical Bay. As we walked there I noticed something was wrong. He was, twitching. His hand seemed to be reaching for his weapon, yet restraining itself every time. I told myself the docs will know what to do. 2 supporters of FWC passed by nodding their heads and saying hello. As soon as they were 5 meters past us, he just stopped. The twitching seemed uncontrollable now and the glow was brighter than ever. I looked at him, about to ask what's wrong. Then the unthinkable happened. He grabbed his handcannon. A weapon I thought was used only for good, just then used for evil. 2 shots. 2 Kills. The supporters fell without a sound, large gaping holes in the back of their heads. I look at my guardian, yelling at him. Then he turned. His eyes. Glowing. His body. Consumed. Taken. He grabbed me. Took out his knife. And disassembled me. There is no physical pain. Only a deep burning pain of a bond being broken. I stared at him the entire time. As he stabbed and tore me apart. Then a shot rang out. My guardian stopped, shuddered one last time. An odd mist seemingly escaping his body. I'm not sure who it was, but next thing I know, I see Ikora near. Her voice was but a vibration now. The damage had been done. Out of training, I produced a recording that I've always had on since birth. Hopefully she can find an answer for what happened. For me however. I can continue no longer. My spirit broken. As I shut down my systems I keep one image on my HUD. It is my guardian. The one who tore me apart. The one who is dead next to me. It is when we first completed our mission. His smile , a smile that could be seen in his eyes. My eyesight is dimming. I must go now. Good bye, guardian. Good bye, my friend. Edit: Fixed some typos.
