....just turn around and take a look at that view.
This is something I feel is dying in games, and lately, it seems gamers don't care about actual artwork in games.
I care Bungie! It's a beautiful masterpiece of destruction. Tell your art team great job!
A few things here. Yes it is beautiful, but after seeing yourself generally spawn in the same area constantly seeing the same view it quickly becomes dull. I personally believe the dreadnaught should have secret areas seeing as how there's a big ass ship with prisons an everything else. Yet you patrol the same spot (like the planets which really makes no sense.....) and the game leaves you with no wonder. While the art and concept is beautiful it isn't something I admire anymore. Games should give you a sense of wonder, especially a game like Destiny. Yet the game leaves with so many unanswered questions it's pathetic. Even the lore from the grimiore starts to make no sense.

You're high.

Can't remember the last time I did. And have no plans to anytime soon. Kinda really boring there.

Edited by TrulyDontCare: 1/7/2016 9:03:42 PMDestiny was my first experience with Bungie, but I'm very impressed by the way put an emphasis on the artistry and design. Most companies would focus on making things as flashy or graphically impressive (from a technical perspective) as possible, but Bungie sacrificed a lot of that for the sake of focusing on real creativity. The game might not be 60fps and some things might even look low res, but the design work is awe inspiring and really shows how much they care about their artists and creating an immersive, unique world. I went to art school and got my BFA, so I really tend to focus on that type of thing. They really let their artists go to town on this game and I absolutely love that. It's a big reason why I'm still a fan. Edit: since we're talking about backgrounds a lot, have you noticed the details in the Venus backgrounds? I never noticed the rolling towers of smoke coming from the far off cities before. I'm often seeing stuff I've never noticed before like that.

From the beta I have always said that Destiny is a beautiful game. There's nothing like it. There's a difference between good quality graphics and creating an atmosphere that awes. The heart of The Black Garden is still one of my favorite images. I watched a YouTube video a while back of a guy getting on top of the temple(?) in Crota's End and overlooking the totems. Now THAT was awesome. I have several screenshots from the game and some concept art set as backgrounds on all of my devices and even my computer at work. I get lots of compliments on them : ) But I also appreciate a nice Minecraft sunset as well so there's that lol.

Whiel that is good and I agree, I must also say that we cannot go there or explore the beauty. It is just that. A backdrop of what could have been. If the rest of bungie was like the art team we would have a masterpiece
-
The art and setting are probably the best parts of the game
-
i have to say the sky on the moon is just astounding. with earth slowly spinning. its really amazing. venus' landscape as well.
-
Totally agree, I am an art fan......and details-maniac.... this is what made me to have this game and enjoy it so much!! Favorite Landscapes: #1 Tower ...City View...ALL AROUND ....Take a Picture of Your Guardian.with the traveler behind. #2 Venus Colors are breathtaking, vegetation, red seas, blue acid thermal waters, the ruinsetc. #3 Moon sky from Hellmouth you can see the earth, mars, comets, satellites, orbiting old space stations, its incredible! and there is a mountain where something is happening! it makes me wonder! #4 Mars everywere! it just so futuristic! The sky with phobos it amazing! I like the appearance of seeing like there is a lot beyond the rocks! #5 Saturn view from the dreadnaught.....it's so close to real... the scale of everything, the feeling that the war it's just in process, Details in the details of the details!! I Like very much the music and the amazing sound effects too! for example how they change according to close or open space and the distances! its mind-blowing! BUNGIE KEEP IT COMING!! GOOD JOB ARTISTS!

It's like having a hot gf but the problem is shes not very interesting at all.. like this game it's beautiful, but not interesting..
-
Skyrim <3
-
I do like the great artwork and attention to detail in the skies and landscape. Truth
-
Destiny has great art and the environments are something to behold.
-
I just wish it wasn't so empty. There's these epic landscapes and skyboxes that makes you think that there's something amazing here...but it seems like everything's there just to look good:(
-
The planets look stunning in the out of bounds area, too bad it makes the map feel very small. It makes it feel like you are actually there, but at the same time it makes the map feel very small. Metroid's maps feel much larger even though there is little to no map outside of the walls. Bungie needs to quit making new places and expand what they already have. It would actually make the game feel larger.
-
The Beautiful environments of Destiny are what brought me in
-
it looks amazing. salute to the team who created it. But its empty and feels unfulfilled. Imagine being with the most perfect woman/man ever. But you feel nothing. It becomes pointless.
-
Yeah its great. Buuuuttt....... use a sniper scope and look out. Pixelated as fuck. Seriously. Xbone. This gen. Even my locks dress thing is boxy. Come on bungie. Polish your turd.
-
You have to see this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rUcz9GR2uwI The entire art team at Bungie are extremely talented.
-
I wish there were more beautiful areas to explore...not just look at
-
Hmpf. I remember my female Warlock with HoW raid gear and Ram. Now I almost throw up every time I'm in the character screen. Sorry, but for me, Destiny's magic has faded.
-
View from the lighthouse is so epic
-
My knowledge of basic astrophysics is a constant Thorn in my enjoyment of some of those visuals, but yes, they are pretty.
-
The Dreadnaught skybox is crap quality compared to the vanilla content.
-
Agreed. The Moon patrol as well as the Vault of Glass are some of my favourite areas just for the views and artwork.
-
The artwork is great and is probably the best thing about the game. Unfortunately, fun and an engaging story must also be there.
