Next time you patrol the dreadnaught....
....just turn around and take a look at that view.
[spoiler]This is something I feel is dying in games, and lately, it seems gamers don't care about actual artwork in games.
I care Bungie! It's a beautiful masterpiece of destruction. Tell your art team great job![/spoiler]

My 2 pet peeves with the environment in destiny is 1. The stars are square. 2. During the night I can never tell which part of the sky are clouds or the actual sky in the cosmodrome.

4 RepliesJust think of how much more moving all this beautiful art would be if there was much deeper story context around all of it. Look at mass effect. All the beautiful areas and designs you visit and see in that game strike an emotional response from you because it links you to its significance and deep lore.

6 RepliesThe artists of the skyboxes did a fanstastic job. Just go look at the view from the Moon's surface. Now imagine those same skyboxes but above a real, living open world. Plz Destiny 2

Yeah the graphics aren't really up to date or anything, but the art is always top notch and really makes you not give a damn. Then you start to think about how good everything would look if it was up to date, a double edged sword their art is. Still wondering how destiny 2 is going to be fed to us. Would really like it if it was another layer like TTK was, but also a graphical upgrade. Though I'm not sure that would happen, unless they either forget about the destiny 1 stuff. That or actually update the destiny 1 stuff graphically.

Do it all the time. If there is one thing Bungie has always been great at (and still is) it's Skyboxes.

If you like the view on the dreadnaught, try the mothyards in the cosmodrome as well. Get on one of the old planes on the left, and just look at the scenery behind the water.

1 ReplyI've sat there in awe when I first got my ps4. It's funny how when I go back to the 3 I'm annoyed by the graphics, but 6 months ago thought they were groundbreaking. The views are awesome in destiny as well as other games!

I do that all the time, everywhere I go! Most games, too. Like in Halo 4 after you land on Requiem and drive past the initial destroyed ship remains, that view of the whole planet was stunning.

Just bumped from PS3 to 4- really enjoying the improved scenery in all the venues. Been playing FO4 as well, and I have to say the overall effect of centuries of wear and decay is done much better in D.

2 RepliesI did that on the Dreadnought yesterday and noticed a Ketch! Don't know how it evaded my sight all this time considering how big the freaking thing is but I zoomed in on the wreckage with my sniper and noticed some sort of barrier or something on it... what could that be? I don't know which weapon it is but I am sure one of the King's Fall weapons has a quotation from an Awoken Techuen which says something along the lines of bring up the shields and protect the queen. Do you think there may be survivors? Plus there is that brooch that you find as part of the Petra quest??? 0-0 But yeah, (got distracted) the sights in this game are stunning. If the patrol zones were larger they would be a blast to explore. Also, I feel that patrols need more enemies. There are areas in patrol maps which look like enemy fortification but only have very small enemy forces there. If it were me, I would have enemies in every nook and crany in patrols. Those many corridors of the rusted ruins of the Cosmodrome; there should be Fallen and Hive hiding... waiting to jump you at any second. The Moon should have Hive all over the surface fighting the Fallen, not just on one platform and underground, and Mars is meant to be an all out battlefielod between the Casbal and the Vex, and in some places like Scablands that is evident, but again the forces are minimal.
