....just turn around and take a look at that view.
This is something I feel is dying in games, and lately, it seems gamers don't care about actual artwork in games.
I care Bungie! It's a beautiful masterpiece of destruction. Tell your art team great job!
I still stop and take a good view at the Forgotten Shore. My favorite. Nice post.
-
This sort of thing is beautiful all over destiny. The view on the moon. The distance in the cosmodrome. The view from the dreadnaught. The jungles on Venus. Well done for all of the background art bungie!
-
my favorite view has always been either the ledge off of the archon priest fight, or the caverns under the moon in the phogoth room ^.^
-
Another great view is in the Tower on the boom where the ships dock, looking down into the city.
-
Been there done that. One of my favorite things to do after killing pholgoth was jumping to the bottom ledge and gazing at the emptiness of the moon
-
When playing cauldron, get to the main spot that people snipe when looking at people in the center of the map, and look up. Hell, look anywhere in the lighthouse place is beautiful only reason I go.
-
Bungie has always had SPECTACULAR vistas in their games. Look at Halo CE and the clouds and skybox on some of the levels, simply great. Especially the levels Halo and Truth and Reconciliation.

Edited by Ketogenic_Guardian: 1/6/2016 10:09:10 PMI agree one important good thing about ttk are the graphics they are so beautiful :)

Sometimes I stand somewhere in the game and think.. shit... I can not believe games look this good. Crazy part is I thought the same thing when N64 came out after playing on a sega and NES for 6 years prior. I'm really excited to see what 30 years from now will be like. So a big thank you from me to all you smart and artistic people who bring this beautiful hobby of mine together.
-
Just turn around and realize Destiny sucks, take out the disc and send it back to Bungie. Broken.
-
Yes, it's a great view but I'll take the sunsets looking off the tower to the west(?). I go up to the second floor and sit out on the balcony and wonder what's out there? Beautiful view and fascinating to watch the shadows change. The technology is amazing. I worked thirty years in a high tech business and I'm always astounded by the rate of change. I'm 72 and Destiny is my first video game experience. I have Fallout 4, Uncharted, Mass Effect 3, and Call of Duty 3 - nothing compares to Destiny!
-
Along with the sound track, destinys art is absolutely amazing (Recently switched from a Xbox 360 to a PS4 so I noticed it even more)
-
Yea the skyboxes are epic on every planet
-
Bungie's artists have always crafted amazing scenery. I remember about 14 years ago landing on Installaion 04 for the first time. You look out over the cliff and see the horizon curve up and continue above and around behind you. Then the massive gas giant Threshold and its moon Basis dominate the rest of the sky. It really drives the point home that you ain't in Kansas anymore.
-
Or the sunset on Venus :D
-
Call me crazy, but I actually enjoyed the material farming for the exotic sword. I had to farm helium filaments and I spent so long just looking. I found so much interesting stuff I'd never seen before, a lot of dead astronauts, destroyed satellites in the skybox, it was cool. I also like the view when IB opens
-
ill spend hours looking at the view from the reef sometimes
-
Go to "The Dreadnaught" story mission and turn around when you spawn
-
Edited by SpakulatorX: 1/6/2016 8:55:56 PMI remember playing PSO on dream cast and being dumbfounded by the scenery, and games have only got better. Destiny may have its issues, as majority of people are willing to point out, but it's still a visually stunning game.
-
I think that is one of the better visuals in the game but I think destiny pales in comparison to the vistas of the halo games.... especially those missions that took place outside on the halos. The dreadnaught is an improvement though.
-
Steven Spielberg needs to score this forum post. Whimsical +10.
-
Starwars battlefront's background is really cool. The ship battles that go on in the sky between the cruisers actually do things like some being blow up and crashing into the ground
-
It's an amazing looking game, for sure. I think that the designs of the three Character Classes, especially the Warlock, are very unique (I don't main a Warlock).
-
Indeed, bungie knows their shit when it comes to environmental detail. Anyone remember halo reach? Damn the scenery in that game.
-
Jaw-dropping visuals is certainly one of Bungie's legacies. The artists at Bungie are world freakin' class.
