Before you say that Nightstalker is fine as it is, just know that I'm only saying that a couple of lackluster perks need changing, not the whole class.
Here are my recommended changes.
-Grenades: Replace one or two of the grenades with some other void grenade. We currently have three grenades that do the same thing giving us no variety in grenades.
I understand the point was to make our grenades be area denial tools but having them all be so similar reduces the variety in possible classes builds.
Grenades such as axion bolt or suppressor grenade would work fine in tandem with the rest of the classes.
-Courage of the pack: This perk in general doesn't work in pvp and in pve it can be somewhat unreliable.
I recommend changing it from +1 armor and +1 recovery for each kill stacking up to 5 times, it be changed to +2 armor and recover for each kill that stacks up to 3 times.
This would make it very slightly more powerful, and much more consistent, giving you the interesting decision of attempting to decide whether you should give your fire team members more orbs so they can use their super sooner, or whether you should give you and your fire team a boost to combat survivability in both pvp and pve.
Predator: This perk needs a complete rework. It is competing with both keen scout and shade step. Both of which are extremely powerful perks.
Possible rework ideas:
-after a certain amount of time the tether traps become insta kills in pvp and cause extreme damage in pve
-on top of the default perk you now get one additional shot, the tether stops movement completely, marks the target, and causes slight damage over time, but does zero impact damage and has a longer delay on the tether. (So no impact kills and no reaction kills, it is now an extremely powerful trap)

I agree with your assessment of the grenades, but while I think suppression grenades would be an excellent addition, I think the scatter grenade is more in line with the Hunter ethos than the axion bolt. Why have three grenades if they all serve the same purpose? No other subclass has that restriction. As for Courage of the Pack, it's not the best perk in the game to be sure, but not the worst either. It's just good enough that I'm not sure it's worth the effort to update it. Regarding your second suggestion for Predator, the extra shot is overkill, but I love the idea of doubling down on the "trap" aspect of the super. I would say that it should do more than "slight" damage over time since that would become it's only damage mechanism, but not enough to kill an opposing Guardian outright (unless Blood Bound is also active and his buddy is dumb enough to follow him into the trap). It also shouldn't completely stop player movement, since that might make it impossible in some situations to get an angle on the tether and shoot one's way out of the trap. What I do disagree with, though, is the idea that these changes are needed to save the class from being underpowered. There are plenty of good options in the talent grid for Nightstalkers. One or two selections that could be better doesn't mean that all the options are bad.
