I had DB drop in Y1, ad like many others, I vaulted it pretty much immediately. However, I know a few weapons had their perks adjusted to be more viable in Y2, is DB now a viable weapon for PvP or PvE? I wanted to try it with the tether when TTK dropped, but I forgot about it until now. Is it worth picking up from Xur?
EDIT: Thanks for all the input! Picked it up this morning!

its is amazing!

Using it with Taikonaut helmet, fun to use in PvE. In PvP is just challenging if you're doing it Javelin launching style like I always do with any rockets that has tracking (to surprise the enemy on what just hit them) xD
-
Quite good when you fire keep hold then let go when you want to drop napalm grenade allows for your team to cap zones easily
-
Fun for PvE mobs.
-
Dragons breath + Nightstalker + blood bound + light of the pack = GG

In PvP, no. Funny to use, but isn't great PvE is a different story. A lot of fun and a lot of damage. Especially if enemies font move out of the Napalm. Which they don't as much as they used to with the Solar Grenade. If you have a Titan with Ruin Wings its even better. You nearly get max ammo from one heavy pack (5/6) and it drops more often. The reason is is even better with Dragons Breath is that it has the perk Surplus - expect to find more ammo for this weapon. You can then just burn them all Who doesn't like fire?
-
Looks better than it was....as a collector i say get it anyways. I have seen it in pvp,the lingering fire has stopped people temporarily from passing chokepoints and such. If you have a titan you can use the helmet that lets all rocket launchers have tracking....
-
Its a big step up from what it was. No tracking or proximity but it makes a huge mess and thrives in PVE. It hurts quite a bit while that napalm is burning. PVP? Maybe in control. That's the easiest target to aim at.
-
It's cool and a little better than year one, but I think it's still a novelty weapon.
-
I use a 320 dragons breath
-
Yes. Just yes. I thought the Y2 would just have a sticky flare and I would use it with my Titan when I got the tracking helmet. Then I picked up my y1 to go and have some shits and giggles. Found out they changed the perk and it was my next purchase. Rips through everything. Plus, NAPALM AREA OF DEATH FOR MY ENEMIES!!!!!!!
-
I always thought dragon's breath was underrated, but in year one it was definitely overshadowed by Gjallarhorn. Now though? In year two? It's beastly. I would say it is the best exotic heavy for taking out waves of enemies, and it's great against bosses. It's my second favorite exotic heavy now, after sleeper Simulant. In pvp? Meh. But in everything else, it really shines. Tremendous fun to use, and much more powerful than it was in year one. Definitely pick it up. You won't regret it.

That napalm perk doe...-blam!-ing nam
-
It is great for PvE. Works wonders on those large crowds around those taken champions and the slow moving bosses. Have not tried it on PvP.
-
If you can afford it this week then definitely get it. It's not necessarily the "best" but it is a ton of fun to use!
-
I liked it well enough when I got one, but I wound up infusing it into my Sleeper. It's a fun add control weapon, and I guess if you could get a boss tethered in the fire you could do some damage, but it's very situational.
-
Its a fun weapon to use, with its napalm effect. Truly an exotic weapon, since it launches an explosion that leaves fire around in the blast radius and burns anything inside. I figure it would be good for things like Control for Crucible, or add control for any PvE, but I haven't ever seen it being used tbh.

Edited by TrulyDontCare: 1/8/2016 7:45:55 PMVery worth it. I use it a lot. It's best against Ultras that don't move much, like Valus. Combine it with a Tether or two and you'll melt him down so quickly it's actually comical. You can also clear out rooms of enemies and not harm yourself, as the initial blast radius isn't very big and flames won't hurt you. Edit: if you want to solo the Taken Ultras on patrol (great for farming exotics with ToC), DB will make quick work of them. That's actually what I'm doing right now.

For me its almost the new Gjallarhorn, but sadly only for Strikes and Missions.

Enemies don't try to avoid the new solar flare replacement, so they usually stand in the fire and take a good amount of damage. I like it.
