I've been wanting to upgrade the space on my ps4 for a while now, and i saw this on amazon.
I want some opinions on it, and any further help would be appreciated since I'm new to this kind of stuff

In retrospect I kind of wish I'd gone with the data bank so i could get an even larger drive. I upgraded December of 2014 to a 1.5 tb and have between 300-400 gb left. I'm concerned that just with exclusives I'll run out of that space by years end. I prefer the ps4 this generation, but I do like that my xbone supports external storage for games, makes things a lot simpler and unless I get the data bank I may end up playing more multi plat games on xbone purely for storage reasons.

Edited by Martiis: 1/10/2016 8:38:47 AMHonestly picking up a Nyko Databank will be a better value. It allows you to use a 3.5 inch hdd with your ps4. 3.5 inch hard drives allow much more versatility. Not only on are they cheaper, they are vastly faster. A 3.5 inch hdd paired with the nyko databank will cost roughly the same amount and will be significantly faster; 7200rpm instead of 5400, and double the cache; never mind the fact tha6 for only $20 more you can use a 2tb Hybrid drive which will be greatly superior.

Edited by TommyG: 1/10/2016 9:19:29 PMYou can get practically the same hard drive from cheaper if you buy it in the casing and just take it out yourself. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00TKFEE5S/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1452460573&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=seagate+2tb&dpPl=1&dpID=41ONsZtUWKL&ref=plSrch This is the one I used. The hardest part was getting it out the caddy, but after that, it's simple. It also gives you the caddy to store and use your old ps4 hard drive too. There's a video and lots of information here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-how-to-cheaply-upgrade-your-ps4-to-2tb I will try and find the tutorial I used to wipe the old hard drive for use on a PC too

I'm actually about to change the battery in the controller to last twice as long for 5 bucks

Edited by Ashraven: 1/10/2016 9:20:58 AMI have this hard drive. I can say it's amazing. I can finally download all my games and play them all again. I wouldn't go back to the original hard drive that came with the PS4. It's very easy to install by the way.

I just put a 1tb in yesterday, it was cheaper on eBay than it was on Amazon

I got the exact same one, if not a very similar one for my ps4. I got it for $80 something on eBay. It works fine and just as expected. Installing was really easy and took about 10 minutes.

I got the exact same one. Works very well and is pretty easy to install. Worth the buy because I don't have to upgrade storage again for a long long time
