not the helmets fault if you can't utilize the perks properly.
Not the helmets fault. Copy that. It is the users own responsibility to properly use the perks of the gear. Thank you for that revelation. So Symbiote is fine and people need to git gud? Okay a little harsh, but whatever you say.
You forgot the part where I said the helm of inmost light doesn't take anything away from the super unlike the symbiote.
Think of it this way. You equip the helm of st 14. Put the bubble up but the moment an enemy walks in, the bubble drops. That's the trade off to wear the exotic.
Or using the helm of inmost light. Sure you get DFA and Headstrong but while using the helmet, you no longer create an aoe where you hit. You have to directly hit your enemy while using the exotic.
Or the Peregrine Greaves. Sure, using shoulder charge in the air with them equipped gives 3x damage. But you only have a second to actually use the shoulder charge before getting a running start again.
Would you bother using an exotic which significantly weakens the thing it effects?
Exotics are supposed to be a direct increase in power because the trade off to using an exotic is that you can't equip another one. Yet they took an extremely situational exotic that wasn't overpowered ever in Y1 and made it a net loss overall to use.
You should be afraid because if bungie is using this exotic as a test, then they might be planning to make trade offs for ALL exotics.

I didn't forget. I intentionally excluded it. How would the quote have made the impact I was aiming for if I attached a disclaimer of your actual intent? It wouldn't have silly. Actually to be serious a moment, if I can stand it, contact abilities and supers frequently are not working, so Bungie has done that.. sort of. Though I do understand that you're attaching this situation to the effect of an exotic item... it is happening. To understand how important exotics are to me... I used Ruin Wings last IB. And my stats are fine, so you don't need to slap me with the noob card. Bungies are small or fat and don't scare me in the slightest. The most they can hurt me is with their bad humor during interviews. You do make a good point though, and I think as we saw stat trade-offs get shoe-horned into our weapons in HoW, we can assume that there may be the same things in future exotics. Ultimately, I think they did this to Symbiote to avoid it having some kind of OP status, not to test the waters. I always thought it was better for PVE anyway, oh well. I'm basically fine with it either way, but I'm nostalgic, and I don't like people messing with my stuff, so I'll lean towards keeping the original perks. Before going further. My original comment was a joke. FYI.

For one I definitely have not intended to call you a noob so my apologies if I've come off that way. As for why they changed the Symbiote, I'll agree that it's possible they did it to simply keep it from seeing it as OP. I'd even argue that they did it so Titans didn't feel like they were the only ones targeted. However, I'm not ruling it being a test out. If I'm right and its a test, they might be looking at how many people will still use it. Either way, the nerf has pretty much made the exotic pointless for all except the perfect Gunslingers. Here's hoping they don't -blam!- up anymore exotics lol.

I made a silly joke, and your response was personal, even if lightly so. It's very hard to tell tone with any confidence in text, and since I avoid making assumptions I opted to run with the joke. No need to apologize, I'm not a noob, and no harm was done. I feel this change has made it a little harder to call GG a roaming super at an extremely rushed 9 seconds (basically 8s really). It changes the strategy when you can't hope to use it through different areas, like the other roaming supers. It still is very effective. Too bad it takes so long to switch gear, and the time needed changes as well, otherwise it would be easier to switch the strategy as needed. With a little warning (you see a super ready guardian run in rather than shoot) GG can fill rolls as Roaming or twitch super. Though it can tackle titans they get their supers back if they're shutdown so... not as effective. Wonder why Titans are the only class that has that. I can absolutely see why people complain about GG... but I tackle hunters all day without issue so I say leave them be. If shifts in the game cause Hunters to have an edge no f's will be given by me. I know that people will come to these forums and complain about anything that causes them issues in the game, and many won't even consider looking inward that perhaps they are the issue. That's fine too, this is just a game. Anyway, in PVE I feel like "we're" underpowered. Game feels like wack-a-mole, and we're the impotent moles. If supers keep being nerfed we're going to have to rename them mundanes. I say no to nerfs, even if it does benefit me in PVP.
