Actually we can't know what it is for a bunch of reasons. A better way to look at it is to think of some people as KD generators (they die a lot) and KD consumers (they kill a lot). A lot of KD generators aka scrubs don't play anymore, removing them from the population and pushing avg KD up. They still exist in stats from the start of Destiny but have no relevance to modern crucible. We're probably talking millions of people here btw so the effect is large. Another reason is that mean and median are not the same but i don't expect you to understand that.

  • So if we were to remove the inactive players with low KDs. We also have to remove the inactive players with High KDs..to be balanced. I'm certain there are lots that went to other games and rarely play Destiny anymore.. certainly not in as high frequency as those who quit early on that can drop the average. Also..seems like you didn't really finish your points. You said a few factors..please continue

I guess I misspoke edit: to clarify, I tried to come up with other things but they are all variations of "mean and median are not the same " stated differently, and it just becomes a cluster -blam!- of "WELL WHICH AVG DID OP MEAN" and none of this is going to make our lives better so I stopped.
