I beg to differ, back in my days of call of duty I had a slightly impressive ratio of 2.6, maybe more or less. It's not amazing but it's way better than average. Now, the reason I was a shit player is this, I only ever concentrated on kills. I never went for the objective. That led me to lose a lot of games but being young I never cared so long as I had the most kills and least deaths. I used to think I was a great player but it took until I grew older to realise why people used to hate me being on their team. KD doesn't count for everything. If you get the rift 4 times and score 4 times and get shot just after you dunk that rift every time and get 1 kill, That's what makes them the best player on the team because they have accumulated half the winning score for the team. Even though you would have a ratio of 0.25.
