Edited by lVlaleficent: 1/13/2016 9:32:26 PMLet go of female only stuff. Wow. Never occurred to me. gotta make sure I do my civic duty and wander around public forums expressing my opinion in inappropriate and unwanted contexts.

Because the military (a public good for all citizens) is totally the same as a gaming clan (a private group with the right to choose their own selection criteria). We seem to have a non sequitur on the field... Also, people keep using the words sexist and sexism around here, but I do not think it means what they think it means. https://finallyfeminism101.wordpress.com/2007/10/19/sexism-definition/ http://everydayfeminism.com/2015/01/sexism-vs-prejudice/ http://www.bustle.com/articles/71400-6-reasons-men-can-literally-never-be-victims-of-sexism-and-those-who-think-they Anyways, thanks for the bump to the thread!

A gaming clan and the military are the same idea. It is equality as a man I do not have a problem whatsoever with a woman doing any job in the military she wants to as long as the standards of that job are not lowered so that she can make it. Before you call me sexist there is science behind what I just said. Men are more muscular and tend to have more muscle mass than women. I'm not saying that there aren't more women out there that can't do the job I'm saying that psychologically it is a bad idea to have women in strictly combat jobs because men will try to save a less injured woman before a more critically injured man. But the idea of a woman's only clan is sexist because it is he same concept as to why women couldn't be in combat jobs in the military biases and as far as your articles I do not care about your feminazi agenda I'm just saying that if you as a gender want equality in every aspect of life then do not ever exclude anyone out of what you are doing or any aspect of life that you yourself wish to participate in.

It's a gaming group to help women meet each other. It's not a sports league, job, military, or service. Have you considered that it is quite counterproductive to your point to troll gaming forums and pick on other people instead of leading by example in your own personal life?
-
So, you're not interested in my perspective, but I'm supposed to take yours seriously? Hi, privilege, how are you today?
-
I just want you to know my stance on the equality thing if you are going to treat everyone the same then you don't have equality. If you fight for equality yet exclude people then you aren't following your own words and therefore a hypocrite.
-
Don't really care about your stance on anything tbh

You know, I'm looking over our mission statement, the original thread post, and all the major posts we've put on this thread to advertise who we are and what we do. You know what I don't see? Any reference to feminism, a fight for equality, or anything other than saying that we're here to provide a safe space for female-identifying gamers to meet up and play Destiny. I'm not sure what battle you imagine we're fighting here, but as far as I can see, the only one going is with the trolls on this thread who seem to have a problem with women making a space for themselves. These same poor souls have convinced themselves that their opinion is and should be of such importance that if they just share it with us, we'll finally see the light, stop everything we're doing, and agree with them. It must be an interesting world in their heads. Nice place to visit to get some perspective on how other folks think, I guess, but I'm glad I don't live there.
