I doubt it's any easier. People usually have endless supers so Weapons/Blessing Waldo for Dawn. Shadowshot. Stormcaller or Voidwalker. Sunbreaker. Take care of all adds that might spawn. All the groups I've played with we never have adds from the middle reach the totems anyway.
You're already at the totems so you're not running to and from centre. But you got to take a coupke minutes and walk in and out of the water with your sword. Then you still have to sit there long enough for the runes to charge. Doing totems normally takes 3 minutes.
Being on the Totem by yourself will never be hard. You have maybe 20-30 Acolytes that spawn throughout the entire encounter and one Boomer Knight every 30 seconds which goes done with 1-2 sniper shots.

The sword thing is just one person and it's not a couple min, and it's also just at the very beginning It's a few seconds at best. And I guess it's personal preference, the cheese is faster though (by mere seconds) and I feel easier

By the time your down using your sword if you had been doing it normally you'd have 3-4 rotations done. I know and what the cheese is. It's not worth the time to make a really easy encounter even easier ( according to you). Bungie needs to patch this ASAP.

you clearly have a bad sense of time if you think you would have gotten 3-4 rotations done by the length it takes to do the sword part. nothing more I can say. of course if you think the cheese is harder, it also doesn't help your argument in calling the people that do it noobs, since they are doing the "harder" version.

I saw a video that showed a longer way of doing this. You still have to wait the 30 seconds for the brand to be passed around and still have to decrease Dethsingers Power. The only thing you aren't doing is going to and from centre. I was saying that it probably isn't any easier because this encounter is already so damn easy that you'd be hard pressed to make it easier.
