The no Knights strategy is irritating to do with players who think they know what they're doing but really don't. The players who are in charge of making sure the ogres are weak but not dead don't clear adds. If you're one of the unlucky ones who has to detonate a bomb, you're mobbed by the adds and finished off by the knight who spawns as soon as the ogre is killed. If you manage to kill the adds and the knight as you're detonating the bomb, the ogres have a tendency to move to the furthest from the center so you have a long distance to travel back to dps Oryx. Whenever I'm in a team and someone says, "I was on a team that did this last week and we did great," it's because the rest of the players on that team knew how to handle the "no Knights" strategy properly. The sad thing is- the players who didn't get enough support and have to run into the death trap surrounding the bombs are almost always blamed when it fails.

  • Taken thralls, taken phalanx, I think a taken legionnaire spawns too. The way we did it, 2 guys are on a middle platform where the daughters are in the previous part while the rest of us are on the platforms we have to be on. We were told not to shoot at the ogres at all, the guys above sniped them down to low health. I took out all of the adds that spawn up to that point. We jump up to higher platform to dps Oryx. When he flinches we run (all the way to the front where Oryx spawns or the back at the entrance) to detonate our bombs. This is when there's another add spawn. They spawn close to where the ogres wander to if you do the no Knights. 4 are detonating bombs, 2 are helping clear out the latest wave of adds. One clears adds in the front area, the other in the rear. Since there are so many spawning so close you're likely to lose someone at each bomb wave. This works best if all 4 bomb detonators are sun-singers. The two who stay at the top platform run as a defender and a nightstalker. They have to focus on clearing the adds away from the sunsinger who just died and doesn't have his super up yet. This is so complicated... Just kill the ogres and the Knights and get it over with!

  • So much easier just to kill the damn knights i think 16 orb strat is the easiest way to complete oryx. Shade is so easy.

  • So are bombs but it really depends on your team Just cuz your a Titan doesn't mean your proficient at killing ogres Just cuz your a hunter doesn't mean you are an awesome runner Just cuz you a warlock doesn't mean you have nine lives XP

  • Waaay easier if you just take the extra 2 seconds to kill the ogre and the Knights. Never understood way people insist on no Knight strategy. Most LFG teams I've run with end up getting killed by one of the Ogres or something else they really shouldn't be getting killed by. Then I'm like hey, take an extra second, kill the Ogre and 2 shot the Knight. We beat it first go after an hour of getting wiped.

  • A good sniper will take care of the knight plus you don't have that long sprint back. The ogres, if left alive, always seem to move to the furthest from the center. That's an unnecessary risk of not making it back in time.
