This. This is exactly what I've been saying. In their quest to "spice up" our weapon variety, Bungie have only created an environment where certain weapons can excel. I prefer MIDA. I've preferred MIDA since mid-Year 1. I rarely saw it in the Crucible (outside of using it myself) and it was even rarer to find someone who could use it as well as I could (not to brag or anything, just making a point).
I used MIDA when Pulse Rifles were the seasonal weapon. I used MIDA when Hand Cannons were supposed to be good. I used MIDA all the time because that's what I liked. Unless I was using another exotic, in which case I had a couple other Scouts with Third Eye that I used.
Now I see MIDA everywhere. (I want to be a special snowflake again!) I keep saying that if Bungie would just find their balance and tweak individual weapons as needed, people would try everything. They'd check out all the weapon classes because they'd all have pros and cons related to their type.
But best of all, everyone would be able to use what they like without being at a terrible disadvantage. ALSO: there's the fact that everyone would have a unique loadout suited to their play-style, which would actually level the playing field far more effectively than constant weapon-tuning ever could. All because everyone would have something that they could excel with.
