Spot on. In year 1, there was always something that I wanted to play for, a weapon or piece of armor that I had to have. Black hammer, Fang of Ur Yut, Gally, or the final piece of crota armor that got me to lvl 32. The nightfalls were always exciting, whether you got a good reward, or not. It was a game that always had something to do, something that I wanted to do.
Now, when I log on, I play for just a little while, there is no excitement, the 3 of coins gave me nearly all the exotics in the first few weeks of playing, and the rest of the game just isn't that exciting or fun to play any more. I used to turn to crucible when all else failed, but now and for the last few months, there is always some sort of bug, glitch, or error code. These new micro transaction events have done little for me. I don't care about doing a strike or playing crucible with a tiger mask on, nor do I find it interesting to put an Atheon mask on and jump off the tower. Sparrow racing for fun for about 5 races, then it got old, an unenjoyable grind. It sucks because this is a game I still want to play, I know it was fun, and still has the potential to still be fun, but right now it just isn't.
I used to be excited for destiny 2, I figured I would hold out and finish original destiny on my 360 and then move up to the xbox one when destiny 2 came out. But as of right now I have so little faith in bungie that I really have no interest in their products any more. I might still get an xbox one in the future, but it won't be for the sole purpose of destiny 2. The decisions made by the bungie hierarchy are driving me away from the game, and have put up a wall between me and destiny 2. A wall that I don't think will ever come down.
