Because America as a whole isn't ready for this type of radical thought But on a semi-serious note (because I can't take anything serious that doesn't pay my bills), to those saying dedicated servers are expensive.... This is a Triple A game company backed by Activision still trying to ride off the coattails of their success with the Halo franchise. And to this point, it's worked. They've most likely made over a billion dollars by this point. They can absolutely afford dedicated servers.
