As someone with a software and systems architecture background this is a laughable simplistic approach. If Bungie were buying their own hardware they would need to spend millions on server grade hardware(Servers, load balancers, firewalls, switches, databases...), data centres, bandwidth, support staff and redundancy. An then you have to actually build the software to work with these servers.
