I build servers for a living. These things cost more money than you'll see in your life. That's not accurate at all... I build orders for companies costing millions... It's a huge investment, that's why Microsoft "rents" theirs to development studios. Of course, Activision doesn't believe in spending money for customers.

Millions of dollars is a drop in the bucket for this company. Destiny has already raked in over a billion dollars.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying they can't afford it, they just don't see it as a necessity. Look at CoD, do they have dedicated servers yet? Last I checked they didn't, BO3 may, idk.

What do you mean? I get the parts, assemble the server, install it into an 8 foot rack, cable it, and then a team configures the system and it rolls onto a truck to go to a customer. I've built many servers for Amazon, Facebook, HP, Apple, Blizzard, eBay, WalMart, Bank of America, etc.
