it's funny seeing everyone complaining about sbmm bc they can't pubstomp anymore and their precious k/ds are dropping
you feel like every match is a sweaty now? u don't like losing? how do you think randoms felt going up against you.
u say u can't take a match off now, lol, like u ever did before. please the only time u unequip the meta is when bungie creates a new one with their "balancing"
basically if you complain about sbmm, only thing I have to say is git gud scrub
and let the attacks on my k/d begin
edit: if its the lag that bothers you, then complain about the lag. Bungie said they will look into the latency issues, if you want to believe them
-
Actually the best way to combat SBMM is to git bad. Tank your stats. Run in circles. Use some green weapons. Ride the bottom of your team. Not only will it mop up the sweat but it will probably net you more rewards because every legendary I see drop usually drops for the bottom 2-3 players.

I don't mind getting pub-stomped by highly skilled players. In fact, I would welcome that since that would make me a better player. What I mind is getting pub-stomped by teleporting red bar players. What I mind is looking at the leaderboard and seeing one guy dominate and having a reb bar connection. These experiences ruin the game for everyone.
-
Why not use both. Match on connection, and then within that pool of similar connection, match/filter on skill. If it takes over a certain amount of time at that point, throw the skill part out. I like skill based matchmaking, but not at the cost of connection. Make it a hybrid
-
You do realize that this match making system is worse on people who are new/causals to this game right?
-
You can't separate the 2. SBMM is causing our latency issues. I'm hella average and I'd rather get stomped by someone who you can actually kill.
-
No I don't like every match I do being a sweatfest. I barely had 1.0 kd when ttk dropped and it has gone down since. While sbmm is a good idea, they still need connection based mm as well. Now if I want to just run a couple matches without a full team, I get thrown into matches with every tryhard sweaty still playing the game because my kd is barely even close to positive now. That's bs.

Edited by ExelArts: 1/22/2016 9:58:31 PMWow smh. Sbmm is the cause of the lag it puts you against players with bag connection along with cheaters and players from the other side of the globe because it thinks there at your skill lvl sbmm has no place in a game that doesn't have dedicated servers Skill based matchmaking doesn't work anyways, sorry. How do you calculate the skill of fireteams? What if friends of different skill levels play together? What about people who are terrible alone but perform much better as a team? These scenarios frequently lead to terrible "matches" where one team has a significant advantage over the other for whatever reason. Even so match made games are still completely one sided along with putting you in games that are pretty much over
-
welp time to start reverse boosting in trials.... whose with me!!!!
-
What if your skill if because you lag so much? Just saying
-
Muted for fgtry

Long ago, Destiny lived in perfect harmony, but everything changed when the 1000kys attacked. Only DeeJ, master of all Weekly Updates, could stop it. But when the forums needed him most, he took a 4 week vacation.
-
I don't mind the "skill" based matchmaking but I dislike the connection problems associated with it.
-
It's the fact that SBMM causes the lag. That's the problem. And if I wanted to play a sweaty ass match every time I log on I'll stick to trials. I'd like a relaxing fun game using different weapons, but when I pair against people with my KD, they all use the same setup, forcing me to do the same if I want to not die. They need to separate playlists.
-
I love doing this. Muted
-
SBMM does not matter to me... it is the lag.
-
Edited by itsGhostMage: 1/22/2016 9:19:32 PMWhat the -blam!- is SBMM?! Edit: Nevermind. Figured it out. I don't face lag all that much (I feel a lot of people think that anyone with a red bar = lag4daiz but it doesn't) and I still think network based matchmaking is better.

Edited by Gladiaattori1500: 1/22/2016 9:09:59 PMI would write an essay telling you how wrong you are but I'm sure most of my points were already covered by all the others in this thread and I'm literally tired of telling the same things to people like you.
-
The only competition I have in the crucible is the lag.

Edited by Ogami Itto: 1/22/2016 5:48:28 PMAwwww...does a little grumpy-wumpy kid need some attention today? You'll feel better after a nap.
-
I thought PvP was SBMM since TTK dropped.
-
My kd has stayed the same and I hate sbmm. Not because of who is playing, but the lag. I'm playing a lobby full of people halfway across the world. So there,mr. Know it all.
-
Edited by Rorobro: 1/22/2016 4:14:53 PMEasy for you to say while getting matched with shitty players. Try playing 2+ kds with 50 dtr every match, its exhausting
-
You see, they need to take a lesson from halo, you had a choice, social or ranked. You could see your rank, it made sense and excused SBMM
-
You have no idea what the SBMM does or is intended to do, do you? No matter how good you get unless your the top 10% you will be placed with equally skilled players the intention is to keep your win loss at 50% and KD at 1. If you start beating those metrics you will get matched with better players until your stats become the average and then that's where you will stay. It inherently stops you from seeing improvement because the players your against always match up with your own skill to keep everything average.
-
If you "git gud" you will be matched with higher skilled people thus making it impossible to acually "git gud."
-
It's the lag...and SBMM is the cause of it. Another reason being - we don't want to sweat every game we play. Clash, Control - they should be casual (connection-based). While Skirmish, Rift, Salvage, and Elimination(+ToO) should be skill based.
