it's funny seeing everyone complaining about sbmm bc they can't pubstomp anymore and their precious k/ds are dropping
you feel like every match is a sweaty now? u don't like losing? how do you think randoms felt going up against you.
u say u can't take a match off now, lol, like u ever did before. please the only time u unequip the meta is when bungie creates a new one with their "balancing"
basically if you complain about sbmm, only thing I have to say is git gud scrub
and let the attacks on my k/d begin
edit: if its the lag that bothers you, then complain about the lag. Bungie said they will look into the latency issues, if you want to believe them
-
lol you asked for it telling "scrubs to get good" especially when you're average at best. You're obviously young and are apart of the type first think later generation. I'll explain it to you. Players are tired of the constant red bars all when before ttk dropped we saw 1 every other map instead of 3 per game.
-
I agree with you.
-
How about just give the players search options, Bungie! Want skill based games? No problem. Want better connection? No problem? Want both? No problem.
-
But if you keep getting better and you in turn just keep getting matched up with better people where does it end? I think you should have your equal share of recking and getting recked. I'm just an average player but I don't want to have to sweat to do good every match.
-
I don't like sbmm because my teammates don't seem to be on the same level I am. I'm inconsistent... when I get on a hot streak I can carry easily. But if I'm not playing well... I lose. Every time. Why? Because my teammates never get more than 15 kills in a salvage match, and don't know how to hold/retake relics.
-
Don't mind it but I prefer connection based.
-
Lol! Some truth in that. Maybe its not the lag, maybe its the balance... No more scrubs to rack up kills with.
-
I saw you post this on someone else's thread earlier...i think you are completely correct on the issue BUT i still want connection based MM
-
It causes latency (lag) due to players from distant regions. It's why lately there are so many occurrences of wall-banging (getting killed behind cover) and delayed deaths.
-
I love it all the top players are being matchmade with other exploiting try hards, justice served haha
-
It's not about getting good. It's about their crappy connections getting even crappier. When you base matchmaking off of anything but connection, you are ruining your pvp experience
-
Nice grimoire score m8 :)
-
k/d dont mean shit to me. i just like have a relaxing game, not having to try my best 95% of the time. it gets old.

Edited by Azule: 1/22/2016 2:17:21 PMI like playing sweaty matches, but it gets tiresome match after match. I like to compare it to walking and running; Walking-Not the as fun as running, but relaxing to do once in awhile and you can do it a lot longer before you get tired. Running- It gets your heart pumping and is very fun/exciting but you stop way sooner than you would if you were walking. With sbmm you don't get to choose between the two, you're just running all the time.
and no I'm not saying playing video games makes me exhausted like gasping for air. Please don't take the analogy the wrong way because that's all it is(an analogy).
There isn't much left in Destiny to play casually and just chill. Pve has nothing substantial to play casually(you can argue the raid being casual but who wants to organize raid team just to play casually) and Pvp was the only reliable thing to just pick up and relax. I have to play Pvp a lot less just so I still get enjoyment out of it. I guess I wouldn't have a problem if there was something else to do but there isn't.
Also try to get kills with test weapons against good players sweating their ass off with tlw and 1000 yard stare lol.
This is just how I feel on the subject feel free to disagree.

Considering your own kd isn't good, you're the last one who needs to say anything about how people who don't like sbmm suck. I do well in every match I'm in, but I hate it. You know why? Let me tell you about a little think called lag. Go into a match, everyone's green bar. Other team (of 3) goes down by more than 300, they instantly drop to red bar and start blinking around the map, not taking damage, and shooting people through walls. Call it "skill" based all you want. The only time I've seen a game with each team within 1000 points of the other, was when they were laggy sons of bitches who barely (if ever) were able to be killed
-
What's sbmm
-
You have a good kd. I'm sick of sbmm. All you have to do is go into crucible with a couple noob friends to get around it. But what you can't get around is lag. It sucks.
-
Is SBMM also in Iron Banner and ToO? For example in ToO will I get matched with players of my skill level unless there is none with the same wins as me? That explains why I am doing so good lately...
-
Heres how i see matchmaking: Connection, skill, or time. Choose two but you cant have all three. If you really wanted good connection and skill based, it would take forever to find a match. The crucible is suffering now because bungie wants skill and time.
-
Nothing to do with k/d or difficulty. Its about lag and poor connections every game.
-
i have no issues with it, as long as it works. in its current state it does not. connection based first then by skill. the only true way to have a competitive match.
-
I love it when their are good connections. I love playing sweaty.
-
It's not the sbmm that I have a problem with. It seems to affect the connection quality resulting in lag more often. I prefer to play people at my own skill level, lessens the chance of getting stomped by people who are miles ahead of me.

Edited by InspectorTaco: 1/22/2016 11:48:45 AMI was going to comment something other than this, but it seems you have no idea what you're talking about.
Actually people complain because instead of finding people close to you, or with similar connection speeds, it finds people with similar skill levels. Which is why the connection is as shitty as it is currently.
- OnlyAlfredo Your response...
that's bc theres less players in general the active population has dried up, has nothing to do with skill based match making
Lmao

I agree. I support sbmm I am crap in crucible and I admit it. I only played for a short time in vanilla and then quit because I wasn't getting anything out of it. I have now restarted to clear quests and enjoy it because I am not getting stomped every few seconds All those people who were complaining about scrubs who were dragging their team down or didn't know what zones to capture and which ones to leave should also support it as now they should be teamed with people who know what they are doing Sbmm allows new or lower skilled players to play against people with a similar skill level and improve so they can move up players with higher skill. If you die every few seconds you don't get a chance to improve The only bad things about it are the time it takes to get a match and the lag. I can see that Bungie has attempted to sort out the lag issue. If you look at the team roster while you are flying in you can often see a large number of red bars which all go green with only a few poor connections. I believe they are selecting a "host" out of all the players which will minimise the lag By the way, k/d means nothing these days as scrubs can get a reasonable k/d as they are playing against other scrubs. It doesn't mean they are better than people who play against higher skilled people but may have a lower k/d
