Let's get things cleared up for the toddlers here: if you are new to the game, or only play crucible on rare occasions, then you deserve, yes, DESERVE to be stomped on. This isn't the special olympics, and you aren't getting a handout or participation medal. You aren't entitled to win matches, or get a good K/D. You have to earn that by improving and playing more and more. If you don't like it then TOUGH SH*T BOY.
90% of you little f*ckers who support SBMM are whiny, mentally adolescent mouth breathers who barely play crucible at all, yet still talk in these forums like you're all-knowing and all-seeing. Hey squirt, just because you played an hour of crucible last tuesday does NOT mean that you have any experience with it, or know anything at all about how it should function. Most of you don't even understand what SBMM is, but you still act like you do and try to talk technical to people who actually know a thing or two about the subject. You know nothing, and your opinion amounts to nothing. Get educated before trying to engage in a debate about something.
"Lol this guy's salty af." Yea I am. I'm mad at you kids who talk like you know everything when you really don't know jack sh*t. You remind me of some of my middle school classmates years ago who would try to talk about politics or business, but really they were just repeating sentences that they heard their parents say. Stop acting so immature and use some common sense.

You're right, I don't play crucible that often, and I understand that I will be out gunned half the time since I lack experience. I enjoy Destiny through PvE. However, if I am in crucible and get out gunned, I don't want it to be because of lag. How is it skill when the other guy just saw me running into a wall, along with everyone else because he has poor latency, but the game still registers us as there, even if we are NOT walking into the walls and corners or running in place? That makes no sense. If I am going to be out gunned, I want it to be on a clear connection. I am paying extra for High speed internet to be beaten by people who thrive off of bad connections. That is not skill.

it's ALWAYS the kid with a .8 kd that is supporting it.

WRONG! I'm 72 years old and new to gaming. I started with Destiny last January and it's the only game I play or have ever played. Before SBMM I always finished last in Crucible. My skills are never going to get better, only decline as I age and I think there are many players like me who because of age, physical disability, or just lack of skill will never be able to compete with the elite players. I know players in their 40's who never go to the Crucible because they can't compete. SRL was another place where we average players couldn't compete with the elites. When I first started with SRL (always finished last there too) I would be 1-5 seconds behind the player in front of me and 30 secs. behind the winner. Then as the elite players learned the map and took over the winning times dropped precipitously and player like me couldn't even get credit for finishing the race. So what happens? We go to the Crucible or SRL or ToO and get annihilated repeatedly and realize we will never get the kills necessary to complete Crucible bounties or quests or win the SRL race or reach the Tower. Is this fair to us? We are stifled in our ability to rank up or get certain weapons and rewards. I can't tell you how many times I have received absolutely NOTHING from a Crucible match and if I do get anything it's useless! I had a similar experience with SRL awards. I realize that the very skilled are going to be rewarded more than the average or poor player, that's the way this game and life works. But we mediocre players paid the same for the game as you elites so if Bungie feels they want to throw us a bone, I'm in favor of taking it. Should the lagging problems be fixed? Absolutely! No one should have an advantage or be put at a disadvantage due to a connection problem. Take your shots at me. Bring it on. I don't care!!!!!!!!! At 72 you really don't give a sh*t about other peoples opinions of you. I am always amazed at the venom and hate spewed forth on this forum. I've met many caring and helpful people in Destiny who have taken me places in the game I never thought I'd go. Unfortunately they don't come on this forum.

if you're new to gaming, then i'll give you a pass on this one. let me explain how things work in regards to matchmaking. they can match us based on connection, or they can match us based on skill. they cannot effectively do both at the same time. one has to be prioritized over the other. by prioritizing skill, connection goes out the window as a determining factor in matchmaking. and just an fyi, "kid" is just something everyone says. but you do fall into the stereotype i stated above which refers to people that are not very good as being the chief supporters of skill based matchmaking. if you continue to play only people at your skill level, you will never improve. if half of your games consisted of being thrust into games with people whose skill was on a whole other level, improvement would be much faster and more severe. above average players deserve to dominate bad players. just like pros deserve the right to dominate above average players. it's the circle of life, bro. survival of the fittest, if you will.

I appreciate the tone of your reply. It's nice to see that people can have different points of view on this forum without name calling. I understand your point of view and the technical issues you talk about. I've read a lot of this and other threads about this problem. While I am new to gaming I'm not new to Destiny having played for a year (if that makes sense). You must have not read my fourth sentence. My skills are not going to get any better no matter who I play with. I have always advocated playing with better players to increase your skills. I was fortunate,as a young man, to play basketball with an elite group of former college and professional athletes ( one of the was Tim Wilson , Earl Cambell's blocking back with the Houston Oilers). After adjusting to the speed of the game I was able to participate regularly without embarrassing myself and my game got much better. I just think that SBMM benefits the majority of players. I play with 40 year olds who don't go to the Crucible and very young players who don't go to the Crucible because they can't compete with the elite players. ToO is even worse. What's fair about giving us Quests and Bounties we can't possibly accomplish? It seems Bungie favors PvP over PvE. Unfortunately Bungie doesn't share their numbers with us so it's not possible to draw conclusions without facts. I hope Bungie will ignore most of the numerous suggestions on this forum about changing the game. I have some but I'm sure they wouldn't fly so I'll leave it to Bungie to design the beat game they can. I think they have done an extraordinary job.
