Looking at the Forums currently exploding with rage (no surprise there) I'm seeing tons of posts lambasting Bungie for making Rift the Iron Banner game mode for it's poor support of solo players.
But as a solo player, I still enjoy Rift quite a lot. I just grab the Spark and haul ass as fast as I can.
Usually end up on top of the scoreboard, which will make Iron Gauntlet a bit easier for me this time around.
The true enemy to solo players in my opinion is the drop-in Matchmaking that throws you into a one-sided game that's virtually impossible to win. And those who say "That's a free medallion or free exotic" are dumb. If all you care about is being handed stuff you didn't earn (I know "earn" is exaggerated in RNG") instead of playing the video game, then why are you playing?
Tl;Dr, Rift isn't the enemy of Solo Play, bad matchmaking is.

Just played it for the first time in forever and I got 3 captures. I never play pvp so the other team must have been bad.
