Legacy Galactic Federation Space; Point of No Return As Phaedrus strode through the stark metal corridors of the de facto Federation HQ, he couldn't help but appreciate the echo his boots made upon the steel. He knew what kind of person... No, being, he had to be to impose order upon those beneath him, to inspire them. They could know nothing of him, besides that he fought for the Federation. From darkness and chaos, they had brought peace and justice. Without them, the Galaxy would still be plagued by the Ignus, the R'Tok, or the Dread. Without them, there would be naught but a void. And yet, these rebels in the Outer Rim had the audacity to stand against this? It almost made him laugh... Almost. The Control Room was a room that didn't exist, in a ship that was never built, in a system that was destroyed eons ago. What Phaedrus saw behind his polarized visor was something very, very few people would ever see. A raised stairway connected the ground to a circular platform in the shape of a halo, surrounding a massive spherical hologram of an Outer Rim planet. In the atmosphere, GF ships circled Insurrectionist forces like birds of prey, and a few markers detailed points of interest. He walked up the stairs, and took a seat at the far left before the conference began. A middle-aged man spoke, in a powerful voice that spread across the room easily. "This was [edit] at 0400 today, being sieged by Battle Group 1. Our Vigilance cruisers had key Insurrectionist forces pinned down, and battle predictions placed our chances 94.72%, with room for extraneous phenomenon." Suddenly, the hologram changed. Insurrectionist territory, outlined in yellow, had expanded rapidly, and the Vigilance fleet lied in ruins. Strange warships were sighted in orbit, though their models were incomplete and rugged. "This, is [edit] at 1700. Ships of unknown origin jumped out of warp with startling accuracy, and outfought our cruisers in a bitter skirmish. We have no schematics or potential capabilities other than those you are currently observing, but we believe that they outnumbered us." The hologram zoomed in once more, showing quick holo-vids taken on the ground. Strange figures were seen rallying the rebels on the ground, all wearing very different, assorted attire. Instantly, Phaedrus thought back to the legends of Exalin and Cyprus, though his smirk was hidden by his imposing mask. "These figures were seen on the ground, beginning at 0600. Their arrival was accompanied by the arrival of these mystery ships, though their gear is native to Federation space, so we do not know of any correlations. Phaedrus, you will be leading a strike team to investigate this anomaly, and to eliminate any HVTs on the ground. We'll be sending reinforcements upon your arrival. Further details await you in the Barracks. Until then, we must remain vigilant against these terrorists. Dismissed." As Phaedrus rose from his seat, his hand slipped towards the durasteel hilt on one of his bandoleers. Hallwinter's blade was still warm, and hungry for conquest. (Closed.)
