At first i absolutely hated it until i realized that everyone has a role they should play in rift, and my best role is home defense. Once i realized that, my games turned much better and my teams even started winning.
the only downside is the golden bounty requiring "best overall" is near impossible for me -_-

Just stop playing Defense for a few games and really push for the spark. It may take a few games but eventually you'll ignite the spark a couple of times in one match and that alone should pretty much guarantee the top spot :)

if you get with the right group of randoms you could get best overall like i did. being a floater isn't a bad thing either, but i've had rounds of over 9000 points twice. it's all about the team dynamic your stuck with.
