Where's the BEST place to farm spin metal?? (CLOSED)
Currently working on exotic sword. I've heard rocketyard is a good location, but haven't had much success.
Edit: Finished! I got bolt caster!

Equip your legendary sword and pull guard with it until you are only holding the hilt. Run around bashing heads with the hilt. Unless Bungie patched it after I did all three of mine this way, hilt kills count towards ability kills. It's been quite a while since I did these, but I would assume you should also have the matching subclass rolling for this. Solar Sword, Solar subclass... Arc Sword, Arc subclass... Void Sword, Void subclass.

If possible, put on a ghost that marks spinmetal (even if you have to buy one from speaker (it's worth the time saved)). Use Sniper to scope the area. The ghost and sniper will highlight spinmetal in the area. It's a pain in the ass to run the mats section, but can be made easier with the right equipment. I did each section of the three swords back to back. Took me 3 evenings to get the mats for all 3. If you are on PS4, give me a shout when you are ready to fight the Warden and Alak. If I'm around, I'll join the fight!!! I enjoy that fight and have helped quite a few people finish the sword quest.

Grab a hunter with scout and just drive around or just get from the vender.

To farm spin medal the best place is rocket yard but for the sword quest use moth yards

Spin metal spawns in abundance. When I did mine I farmed the spawn location and the moth yards. They're close by so you don't have to run a marathon between each location. Usually by the time you've cleaned out one area resources spawn back in the previous. Rocket yard is great too since you can pop a 3oC against taken ultras while you grind.
