THIS IS GOING TO BE LONG, LIKE ALL MY OTHER POSTS.
INTRODUCTION
So some people want weapon reforging apparently. Before you vote, read this and then make a more educated choice. Or, if you've already voted, maybe I'll change your mind, maybe I won't.
My Opinions about Crucible
As of now, the Crucible could be in such a wonderful place. Sadly, there are a few specific weapons that are plauging it. First off, exotics like The Last Word or MIDA Multi Tool, which are wonderful weapons, are outliers and throw the "balence" the Crucible has off. The Last Word is a full auto hand cannon that shoots faster than any other hand cannon. The MIDA has staggering rounds, which cause it's enemies aim to be completely thrown off, shredding any hope of defeating it in a fair 1v1 gun fight. I enjoy Crucible more without these weapons, but I'm sure people would hate to see them nerfed. Instead, Auto rifles and Pulse rifles should get buffs. Now, onto special weapons.
Sadly, Everyone got extremely easy access to two weapons with amazing rolls, the infamous Thousand-Yard Stare and Conspiracy Theory-D. As long as these two weapons exist, no matter how balenced special weapons become, everyone having access to these two weapons ruins the Crucible. I propose that those two specific weapons are deleted from everyone's inventories, and everyone is compensated with 50 strange coins.
Now, to make Fusion Rifles able to compete with other Special weapons, I propose that all changes made to them from the Taken king and forward are revoked, and then we build off of that.
Rerolling Legendary Weapons
Okay, now we get into the meat of the post. First off, I will say that I support rerolling. Now before you go post something arguing why I am wrong, here me out.
I think rerolling is a great thing. It creates an image of a perfect gun that you can strive for. Without rerolling, that image is an illusion to almost everyone. In House of Wolves, rerolling for a perfect weapon was way too easy, every single player could easily get a god roll. I believe this is because the price was far too low, and you could basically reroll with no consequences. If rerolling legendary weapons does make a return, I think it should have these standards.
My Requirements for Rerolling
1. The cost has to be super high, like 100 legendary marks and 25 motes of light. Maybe even more expensive.
2. Rerolling a weapon lowers its attack by 10. This would not let players just reroll their highest level weapons, they would be forces to find new ones.
3. You can only reroll X amount of times a week. X is your Gunsmith rank.
Conclusion
I hope rerolling makes a return with significant changes. Getting a god roll should not be easy, but with time and dedication players can get their hands on their "perfect weapon".

These are some other posts I made.

The thing is, no cost is too high. 100 marks would only continue what they do best. Artificially inflate how long it takes to do things. The 200 cap is dumb, same with the glimmer cap. It forces things to take longer, when it's a lack of variety is the problem. The game simply doesn't have enough items to let the currency go uncapped. 50 strange coins is nothing since most players have hundreds of coins. The ones that don't would be irate screaming about unfair.

I think that a "quick" fix for the shotgun issue would be to do away with the high impact high range archetype. It shouldn't have been put in the game to begin with in my opinion. High range, low impact, fine. High impact low range, OK. I use shotguns a lot, cause I suck at sniping, hell, I suck at crucible in general. But regardless, it doesn't change the fact that this particular archetype shouldn't be around.

Rerolling is a necessity
-
I didn't read your post cuz it was too early for me sorry but I will give my 2 cents. Weapon rerolling was excluded in Y2 because it was abused in Y1, which is what people will always do with good things but it was too much of a good thing to keep around so it's understandable in to why it wasn't brought to Y2. To be honest this could of been replaced with vendor options/sales. Most of us once we reach a certain level never go back to a vanguard vender, Eva levante, the speaker etc. why not refresh their inventory? Why not give us options on a daily or even weekly basis? Turn the tower into a swap meet for sh1ts sake and give those vendors purpose again. Just a thought I'm sure you all have yours as well. Have a good day guy x)

No. That's what made HoV unbalanced. Yes, I love it too. Yeah, I felt it was kinda deserving (although I still never got the roll I wanted). But Bungie did it as a 'lets see what happens' kind of thing
-
Hammer forged max range shotgun with increased impact and stability.
-
I agree with everything else but the attack decrease. 10 is way too much. I would go with 5 imo.
-
They obviously replaced reforging with armsday, already.
-
Not a good idea at all. Punishing a player for rerolling a weapon is a horrible idea. Might as well buy a legendary engram if the drawback is that big.
-
Just bring back re rolling. It doesn't have to be more expensive however it would give more diversity in the crucible. You wouldn't see the same weapons 99% of the time anymore. Pulses and auto rifles need to be buffed up slightly so more people will use them again (bungies idea is to nerf certain guns because they're being overused instead of just buffing the other ones to be on pair). Scouts are fine and hand cannons need to be slightly buffed up again. Reduce the range of some shotguns, they should only be viable in CQB not mid range (party crasher, conspiracy theory D). I have been killed from sole absurd ranges with some of these shotguns. Make more high impact sniper rifles instead of low impact fast firing ones so people have more choices because honestly everyone uses 1000 yard stare because it's one of the only snipers that can res snipe at the moment (year one we had six or seven different ones). It's that simple and you'll see crucible become an extremely better experience.
-
I agree it needs to have more of a cost than how but not that much
-
The more i read the more my eyes bleed this is a horrible idea
-
Ok so I did like it for a while, but that feeling of 1) getting the gun you want And 2) it having good perks on it Is totally destroyed by reforging, not to mention people will find a way to reforge a balanced gun into the most broken state possible, regardless of the cost to reforge.
-
I stopped at here me out. It's hear buddy.
-
u dumb bruh
-
Rerolling shouldn't be so exspensive, considering the fact that it's rng.
-
No, you -blam!-ing idiot
-
Normally I would be for this but you got remember, the current system is make players play the game more to get that perfect 1000 Yard Stare. If they reintroduced weapon reforging, imagine all the people running around with hidden hand, Shortgaze 1k stares or range finder Conspiracies. It would basically make the crucible even more salty than it currently is.
-
Reforming should've stayed, it'd bring some balance to the game because everyone would strive for the same/similar perks.
-
Weapon reforging still exists in the game btw
-
I didn't even read the post. If you bring back reforging, everyone will be using the exact same roll for the weapons. Felwinter Payment IV Benevolence Spear Fury Ash Etc........ But then again, maybe they should bring it back. That way all these bitches stop bitching about nerfs.
-
I support this, but there should be a cap like you have suggested. My idea of reforge would be: 1. Host and sacrifice weapon must be of same legendary item, same type, and same perk tree. I'll take 2 Hakkë Auto Rifle Arminous-D for example. 2. You can select the perks you want from the sacrifice weapon to be reforged into the host weapon. For example: I want to change the first perk on the host from Spray and Play to the sacrifice weapon's Glass Half Full 3. Each reforge only allow ONE perk to be changed at a time. Once the perk changes takes place on the host weapon, it cannot be reforged again. 4. To change the 2nd perk on the host weapon, another Arminous is required. 5. Each reforge will drop 5% of the host weapon's damage value. 6. Reforge shall also include the sights to be changed on the host weapon. 7. Each reforge should cost 20LM, 10 motes, 15 weapon parts. I think full weapon customization is the way to go for reforging. Also, let us reforge the color too! Cheers!
-
I'd rather be able to ascend the rare (blue) gear.
-
He'll yeah. Used to love the grind to be able to re roll weapons.. It was something to do in this game.. who cares if someone has god perks.. you can too. End of the day this game is fading fast and needs something to make it last.
-
Why not go back to the old days? IB weapons can be rerolled.
-
I'm ok with it, not this like though. You're making it cost an arm and a leg to reroll something, the only thing people will reroll is 1kys, conspiracy d, hung jury, and maybe Imago Loop
