Sorry buddy but they have a point
The first question the the group leader asks who will be our 2 titans ? (defenders)
and tell others to change their classes so we can have enough titans for the next raid
defender is not just about shielding your entire team
its about giving all of them extra armor and extra weapons damage
which is essential for Raids !
I have finished KF raids without warlocks or without hunters
but never without a defender titan
Take it from a person who previously had 3 Titans !

Still, unless you like the path of most resistance, or have a highly-skilled, highly-cohesive group...Titans are going to make the job easier.

I've done kf hard oryx challenge with a full group of hunters, it was fun. But this was with a group I know and am confident -blam!-ing around with, wouldn't do that with randos.
