Is defender needed? No Is it helpful? Hell yes Do you need more than one? Nope Is it helpful to have 2? Yup What about 3? Yup Is it really needed outside of helping scrubs live with an extra bubble? Nope [spoiler]they kicked you because they can't survive without an extra blessing for protection while the other 2 are on adds[/spoiler] HOWEVER Striker and sunbreaker provide very little benefit to the team outside of orbs which a tether and iron harvest defender do well enough. So the team was just wanting a person that would benefit them on more than just orbs
