It's tough. I've been here since the beta, the game had so much promise.

Same here friend, 1300 hours in. Bungie has let me down, very disappointed, so many missed opportunities, no respect, money grabbers, yadda yadda yadda. It's a shame.

I've got you beat by just over a 1000 hrs and I am in full agreement. Back surgery gone bad was what pushed me into the black hole that Destiny has become. It's a bit like a virtual reality thing and one of the few things that lets me ignore the pain for a bit. I really want this game to work, but bungle seems to want just the opposite. I started doing PvP out of sheer boredom, and habit. I used to have three or four pages of people just as addicted as I am...it's down to about three, people, now. I've got ESO, Fallout 4, Warframe and Rocksmith...so I suppose it's time to try to break the addiction.
