The second before your golden gun actually sets on fire (before your super goes down) you actually get a damage resistance. I've had times where titan lightning grenades only do 70 damage when a GG is activated. It's only during a small window before you can actually use the super.

Hes telling the truth. Golden gun has 50% damage resistance for 3 seconds after activation
