If they gave out decent content in their dlc it wouldn't be a big deal. 5-7 missions and a raid or survival arena isn't gonna cut it. Thats not much game play time. I'm not sure who their trying to appease with their content. Their bosses or us.
If the vanilla game included tdb and actually had more of a game or story to it. it wouldn't have been a such big deal. They gave us what 12 hours of vanilla? Thats missions and you can't give patrol game time because your not really doing much of anything to advance story. Progress yes slightly but only because they force you to wait of times boss events. Artificial game hours.

...and now we are seeing the disadvantage of blending a FPS with an MMO-RPG. Making new PVE content is time-consuming and expensive. MMOs are able to crank out lots of content because so much of what is "content" IS PRETTY easy to make...and the game mechanics are crude in comparison to a game like Destiny.

Thats extremely true. On the other hand if their engine wasn't so complicated they could do it faster, possibly better. I realize that there's only so much they can do. When you compare let's say wow,because it's used a base for a lot of similar games, to destiny. The biggest difference I think about is the time it takes to level including the go do the same things over and over at different levels and areas. The story and enemy's are different in each area. You can you don't have to go a director to start a dungeon vs load to main menu start random strike load. It seems destiny is overly complicated and that's the issue with this game.

You do realize TTK only had 1 new area, everything else was the original area with new enemies, even the ship in Earth was an area from Vanilla that got cut.

You are fighting a WAR. This is not an adventure game Hats off to Bungie for coming up with the idea of The Taken. It was a way of introducing some variety without breaking the immersion that we are at war with a specific set of enemies.

I just find the Immersion to be lacking in Destiny since what little story there is is so poorly pieced together. Its all good if it works for you though :-)

I dont' need a story to become immersed in the action of a well-done first-person game. Which Destiny is. I don't need a story to become immersed in the environment of a well-done third-perons game like The Division or Diablo.
