The reality is, Bungie is in over their heads... If Activision is smart, they will hand the title over to a different developer that knows how to do something other than build a PVP based shooter. I think that Bungie tried, but then decided it was too hard, and one day in a meeting said "-blam!- it... This is hard... Let's just focus on PVP"...

Nope, but they care enough about their investment in this project to ensure that it continues to pull revenue and Bungie could well be seen as a high risk (I can guarantee they would be in my risk analysis right now due to a CEO change). CEO changes always drive up risk and often you see a dip in company value (unless done through a major, transparent transition).

I love Destiny, and up until the last couple of months, it's been my go-to game. The problem is that Bungie's recent PVP push is ignoring what made Destiny special and different, and is instead turning it into the same thing that every other FPS developer in the market is making. Bungie is trying to turn it into COD + space magic... There are too many other games on the market right now that do PVP better... It's not a sustainable formula.

I agree. I don't really care for shooters these days for that exact reason. They're all CoD clones. Destiny has so much potential to be more than what it is. I'm with you, I hope they learn from their mistakes and make destiny 2 better.
