A moderately large freighter lands outside of the bases perimeter, and shuts off its running lights.
A few minutes later, a loud thudding noise can be heard outside of the base, and snapping trees can be heard as well.

Hundreds of soldiers arm up and set out, looking for whatever was making that much noise and disruption.

Edited by Sigmar: 2/6/2016 3:29:36 AM
Surely you're familiar with AMP suits. Just imagine one built of titanium, and with a solid metal cover instead of a glass canopy. Micro camera viewing ftw.
After a while, they come into view of a large mech-like vehicle, a huge knife in one hand, a large cannon slung onto its back, and a dozen military-grade containers strapped down to it where they could be.
-
The ones from Avatar, right?
The soldiers surround it, some arming grenade launchers, others holding rocket launchers, a few even grabbing grenades and getting ready for an attack. A man with a sniper rifle walks through the ranks, holding his hands up. "HOLD YOUR FIRE! HOLD YOUR FIRE!" The soldiers eye him but nod and lower their weapons, allowing whatever was going to happen happen.
-
You would be correct.
The mech drops it knife into its sheath, and speaks forth via exterior loudspeakers. 'You the rebels that've been kicking Fed ass?'
-
Edited by Python824: 2/6/2016 3:36:56 AM"So we are winning?" The man grins underneath a skull mask, a helmet covering the rest of his face. His armor was gray and orange, the colors of the Rebellion.
-
'Well, you'd certainly be doing better if you bought Mar Saran gear. Ballistic weaponry and heavy blades are far more cost efficient than energy weaponry.' The mech reaches its arms forward, and opens up its metal canopy. 'This isn't what all our AMP Suits look like though, most of them have sealed glass canopies.'
-
"Looks quite effective...." He nods, smiling. The soldiers began to return to the base. Dan turned to them. "Back to work, ladies and gentlemen! Feds aren't gonna kick their own asses!" He shook his head and turned back to the AMP suit.
-
'Well, they're best for clearing jungle, lifting work, and force multiplication of defensive networks. They're good for quick raids too, if you've got experienced operators.'
-
He nods, looking up at the mechanical beast with a hope in his eye. This could be their ticket to winning the war. "Definitely useful...how much are they on standard?"
-
'Well, standard units cost about 1mil a piece. SpecFor units like this one are custom built to the users specifications, so they vary. This one cost me about 7mil, since its got a lot more power than the standard, its got to have it to move all this metal and hit harder than the standard unit.'
-
"We can afford about 5..." He chuckles, shaking his head. "Come on down, my men will move the AMP suit into our garage. We'll get you situated down here. You can use this as a base of operations of sorts."
-
'Id prefer to stay in my freighter, nothing against your men, but I've got all my comforts there. As for parking this thing, you need a special parking bay for them. You'll get a notice about that with the AMPs when they ship them.'
-
He nods. "Fair enough." He leads you to a small house, with a tall building next to it, probably the garage. He opens the talker building, revealing small, jeep-like vehicles and a few ships inside.
-
'You've not got much gear. You need to find an independent planet who feels like funding you, you'll have far more equipment than you'll know what to do with.'
-
"Yeah...this everything on this planet. We don't have much, most of it's just modified civilian vehicles." He shook his head and sighed as he looked at the vehicles. "Planet funding would be our only chance at this point."
-
'Well, Mar Sara can provide equipment, as long as you promise to keep your newfound way of life to yourself. We're not against the freedom to choose the government you live under, but that doesn't mean we're going to let you try to steamroll us with our own equipment.'
-
"We make allies and we keep them, it's a code as sacred as chivalry. My soldiers won't break it, and if they, I'll execute them myself." His expression hardened, it was obvious that he took that matter very, very seriously.
-
'Good, I'd hate for you all to be terrorized for dumb decisions.' Duller pulls the AMP knife out of its sheath, and scrapes it against the opposite arm. 'You'll need someone to train AMP pilots, but there are plenty of Mar Sarans who'd be capable of doing that.'
-
"Would you be willing to train them? Most have discipline and will listen to you, any others you can report to me and they'll be dealt with."
-
'Trust me, i can handle them. I may be able to train them, but I want to handpick a strike team out of the applicants, hand train all of them for raiding.'
