I made a decision to avoid posting topics whose humor is derived from the reaction of the replies, not from content of the topic itself. Obviously this topic was treading on that line and not many people could see it was satirical. Therefore many angry replies were had despite it being tagged #satire. But rather than leave the thread up with a disclaimer, I feel it's better to take it down. So...sorry.

Let me guess, you support feminism too huh?

Pretty much all of us kids should probably be restricted from all videogames so we can learn to be productive before reaching adulthood.

Edited by Puppet Master: 2/9/2016 1:41:49 PMWow. You really are blaming a video game and being in a "community" for the action of kids in your head phones???? You have already missed the point. Set the controller down and just stop. I also hope you yourself does not have kids. This is an extreme let down to see you are blaming a game and "community" and not the parents of the kid. Parents do ALL of the work. And you want to SCAN peoples faces? Shit why don't we just "tag" humans and then if they go to pick up a controller and are deemed to "young" by the ignorance of people like you the system won't turn on for them. I love the kid bashing his sister's head open for loot and glimmer, I mean, at that point a video game interaction is the absolute least of our concerns and we probably should just put the child down and possibly the parents.

Edited by Stellar: 2/9/2016 10:30:55 PMI'm 12 (about to be 13 don't h8 m8 apreci8). My parents really don't care about it that much. If it is a game that is like super sexual or contains nudity then it is a no go. Same goes for super Gory stuff (like the new doom game) Honestly I think it shouldn't be as much about age but more about maturity and the mental state of the individual. And I don't mean to encourage 9 year olds should be screaming into the Mics while playing GTA that's not what I mean by the age shouldn't really matter. I mean like if a 12 year old (like myself) wants to play a game that is rated T or M I shouldn't be restricted from playing because I am 12 it should be up to the parents to decide whether or not the individual is mentally prepared to be exposed to that content. Edit: and yes I do realize that this is under #satire but I still wanted to state my opinion.

No it should be people who insult people under the age of 13. Simply because they are acting like a 12 year old or below. :/
-
yeah, totally agree
-
Your solution boarders on creepy. I for one will never let my child be put on a data base with her picture, that thought is insane this day and age. I will say that I would never let my child play a game like this till they are much older. It's up to the parents. The rated 13 and over is a mere suggestion not the rule a it says specifically "suggested".
-
Look i know your salty about getting your ass beat by kids its.ok i will too cause im a high schooler. Also no i do not agree because most kids are toxic these days it makes no difference if they played games like destiny besides playing these kind of games releases anger on the game rather than on peope. P.S. why the hell would anyone bash their sisters head open for glimmer? I don't even think a pre schooler would think to do that
-
No Its the choice of the parent since they hold responsibility of the child choices and decisions(good parenting).
-
Actually, if you've been solidly proven to be >13 years old, and some douche reports you, Bungie is able to ban you from their servers...
-
Why the long face?
-
I'm not gonna say anything about the Kinext because I know this is satire. However I agree that kids shouldn't play these games because their parents, likely, not always, are toxic enough; they don't need the community.

Yes please

Ok I get this is satire, and we can't do what OP is suggesting but here is my little kid stories.... Story #1. I am in the tower with my husband and looking at other guardians, we run across a brand new player, level 4 low light low grimoire, so I message him to see if he has a refer a friend.... I can drag him through some levels and help him get started and I get the emote and emblem for my collection. He turns out to be eight or nine and mommy and daddy have set his parental controls so no one can actually play with him, but whoops they forgot to set them so he can't talk to strangers. The next day he messages me asking me to come to the tower, I go there to change characters and tell him I am I the tower, he says "where are you, I don't see you", I explain that I am not in the "same" tower. He then tells me to go to the "first tower" like where you started the game. I explain that it doesn't work that way. Everyday he messages me, whether I respond or not, he tells me I am his best friend, and he loves me as a friend, he even wanted my phone number so we could talk. People watch your kids.... Personally he would be safer playing with people then messaging them or better yet playing a more appropriate game. Story#2. We are playing IB rift in a fire team of six, two of them are 17 or 18, in comes a little guy, who mentions that he is nine. He is jabbering on and on about the game he is playing "not destiny", and my 23 year old daughter says something about the little kid. He then starts yelling that he is not a little kid, so I say, " oh honey, she didn't mean it like that". He then says, don't call me honey your not my Mom and I wouldn't want you to be my mom, your such a HO, we then all lost that match trying to kick the little turd out of the party. Little kids don't belong in this game, I am sorry to feel that way, but I can't believe how horrible some kids are on this game.

"#satire" So many people took this post seriously.

Destiny is not just T for Teen, it's also an on-line game. 12 and under are too young in my opinion. My kids have plenty of other games to play.
