My only issue is with thorn. The gun is over powered and broken. My fix? Instead of a dot, make it so you take more damage. It works like a tether or burning point. Maybe adds +3% per bullet and doesn't prevent recovery.

The base impact is low for a HC. That's why it has a DoT. High rof low initial damage, but high final damage. If you rebalanced the weapon to not have DoT then that'd only give it a better time to kill. DoT is the weapons strength and Achilles heel.

It's broken. It's as simple as that. As long as it has a dot it will always be broken. Even if you out gun a thorn the dot might still kill. You why should the lesser skilled player be rewarded?

Because its a Y1 weapon that someone earned in a game they payed for L2P bro use mida or strafe with doctrine it isnt -blam!-ing hard to beat a thorn and whining more and more about a "broken"gun that isnt even used in IB or ToO isnt going to get bungie to just get rid of it when people dont even roll it in light based pvp..

How is it overpowered because people use it in regulard crucible and it makes your pu s say hurt when people use it on you and you arnt try hard enough to counter it. Im sorry a gun bungie didnt bring to Y2 AND NOONE USES IN IRON BANNER AND TRIALS BECAUSE OF LIGHT LEVEL MEANING SOMETHING has got you guys so butt hurt its unbelievable im glad bungie let crimson doubles have y1 weapon useage viable for once because it shows how flawed alot of you are at crucible you cant even counter or kill someone with a y1 handcannon.

It's a never ending cycle. No one ever complained about ice breaker before the patch, no one! Why all of sudden now? The gun is the same as before, nothing changed but no one complained that it regenerate ammo. But all sudden people are getting killed by ice breaker, they complains about it. You see the pattern? This is destiny's community mentality, "if I die to a weapon, regardless of what it is, I will complain about it." This is why I don't play PvP. I get hate messages for using lord of wolves, fatebringer, side arms, and even when I use a rare primary. Wtf will make you people happy?

Im a day one player thats put hundreds of hours into a game i payed for and i can beat the handcannon you say is broke and i follow bungies TOS for the game and forums. so i am more then welcome to have an opinion. Whether I can beat it is irrelevant. The gun is broken. End of discussion. Case closed. Dots shouldn't exist in this game, specially on a primary weapon. It is the only gun in the game that rewards bad play. There is literally no reason to ever aim for the head with thorn.

Im sorry that your mida and the overpowered conspiracy theory combo you run on your 320 character isnt enough to beat out a Y1 weapon learn to slide with your op shotgun when they are shooting you and shotty them.. it isnt hard man people like you is why bungie wont nerf or buff thorn because its fine and beatable the way it is...

I don't rely on the DoT so if it's up to me they can take that perk off the gun

Edited by sharkbait07: 2/11/2016 2:09:42 PMIt would need to be replaced though. Some kind of debuff that doesn't damage and prevent recovery. Maybe even the mark of the devoured lasts 3 seconds and makes it so if they die while marked the wielder gets a boost to recovery, agility, or armor.

hmm don't know, wonder when the next game update will be.. What level increase will there be, new guns stats and what about old guns.. The Y1 guns will stay low while the rest moves up another notch..
