I chose other because frankly im fairly terrible at pvp but the chaperone is so very much fun. Other than that its whatever primary i have equipped at the time...and suppression grenades.

Well placed Suppression grenades are great. I wouldn't call it a crutch

This is very true, they may not get an outright kill but they can work magic if you know how to use them. Theres also something so satisfying about having that "well shit" moment when you hear a super go off then shutting down a stormcaller or sunbreaker and getting the melee kill.
