Thorn is the best handcannon in the game. It has more range, higher fire rate and more damage than any equivalent with the only exception being TLW which doesn't have the same range, damage per shot or damage over time. So there is no doubt it would be the most used primary in the game once again.

It's stats are comparable with Ace of Spades. What makes the gun so good is of course Mark of the Devourer and it is good. But it has different playstyle fun tions than TLW. At close range of course TLW reigns, but at mid to long it may compete with other guns. This isn't me in the denial, the meta is just at a place where anyone can use anything they want.

Anyone can use what they want? You must be playing a different game to me.

It's the truth idky people hate this meta or think otherwise unless you are only playing "sweaties"/skirm. I use First Curse + Sidearm and do fine in normal and Trials. I feel no need to use TLW/Sniper, Mida/Shotgun, Thorn at all. There are only three things I actually can't use in this meta: High Impact/Low RoF Auto & Pulse Rifles and Short Charge Fusion Rifles. If all you are doing and all you are seeing are tryhards then that's your business. Even when I played Crimson Doubles I went against against maybe 5 Thorn users. If you think this meta is as centralized as HoW you clearly aren't paying attention. Some playstyles are more prominent or "easy to use" (not an insult) like TLW/Sniper, Mida/Shotgun but those are two playstyles.

Any playlist I play is littered with tryhards. Played 10 games of crimson doubles, if I added up the medal scores of all the players involved I'd be going past the 50 million mark. I see thorn/TLW/MIDA everywhere.

Then again what you saw is all tryhards. That is a....division could we say?....of the pvp community. I actually faced quite a variaty (of course with a good amount of TLW/Mida/Thorn) including Doctraine, JuJu, Suros Regime (wtf), First Curse, New Monarchy Auto, etc. Maybe you might say we just have different skill levels, and I am at a lower level than you (just looking at your profile), but I think it's just the tryhard portion of the community
