i almost never take my HC's out of the vault because the ammo capacity is so bad on them, got a really good roll on an eyesluna the other day but the last time i used a HC on patrol i ran out of ammo in the middle of a taken incursion, it makes the gun almost unusable for anything but crucible

I almost exclusively use hand cannons in PVE and PVP. Using armor with more ammo helps. I agree it's a far cry different than before but it helps.
