And people being able to swap to their sniper of choice (usually a 1000 Yard Stare) and keep a full clip of ammo isn't an exploit? Using the Invective, a sidearm, or even the Icebreaker isn't the problem, those weapons are unique in how they handle ammo. The problem arises when players try to subvert the special ammo nerf using the unique weapons. People are always looking for work-arounds. Cheezing raids/strikes doesn't hurt anyone, but taking shortcuts in PvP is definitely on the scummy side. Well, whatever. Yet another reason for me to never attempt Trials.
