I'll agree that grimoire does help identify skill, but only to a certain degree. If someone only does pve, or pvp, they tend to suck at the other. It only tells you who has put in time in the game. K/d doesn't really show skill either, cause if you spend all your time camping you can easily raise it, and if you have played long enough to not care you'll tend to mess around instead of trying so you can actually enjoy the game.
The only true way to identify skill is to play with someone. That's why when I look for trials teams on lfg, I do dummy runs to see if they suck or not, then buy new cards if they can actually hold their own. On the pve side, I just don't care anymore. Too easy and too repetitive for no rewards.
