[b]Chapter 3: Forming the Gate Team[/b] We came out of slipspace. Venus was in sight. I immediately noticed the clouds of electricity and a large object breaking through the cloud layer. We landed and ran towards our destination, the Endless Steps. We saw another Guardian fighting off Vex. He seemed to be doing fine until one sniped him in the arm. “Is he okay?” “We should help him.” We rushed to his aid and fought off the remaining Vex. After they were all gone, he turned to us. “Thanks guys! My name is Daniel. Can I help you?” “You looked like you needed help… and your arm is bleeding.” “Oh, that’s nothing, it’ll heal.” I stayed silent and looked at the mountains. I also noticed the ruins towards the bottom. Was this all Vex? “Hey, Promethean, come on! This guy’s joining us!” We continued moving to the Endless Steps, fighting off Vex on the way. When we finally made it, I was amazed at how beautiful it looked. The Gate had a shield in front of it, protecting it from fire. I know this because Daniel shot at it. There were so many Minotaurs guarding it that we ended up having to use everything in our arsenal. When we actually got to the Gate, a plate on the ground lit up. Maya stared at it before saying; “Should we… I don’t know… stand in it?” “Go ahead.” “I don’t know.” Maya walked into it and a white ring surrounded it. We heard a loud noise and a black being came out of the portal. It looked like a large Minotaur, but jet black and much more aggressive. We all shot at it. At first it seemed to do nothing, but then it started to walk weird. Daniel jumped up and raised a gun into the air, the gun was on fire. He fired and it crippled the Minotaur, which Maya was calling a Gate Lord. The Gate Lord fell with a vaporized foot and a destroyed core. Maya sprinted to its dead body. “We need the eye!” “What for?” “It is an item she needs to get into a place called, the Black Garden.” Maya retrieved the eye and told us to go back to the place where we landed. We ran past the entrance to the large structure when we saw a Guardian call us. “Hey! I need your help!” We ran to him and asked what he needed. “I am doing a mission to capture a Fallen Kell from the House of Wolves.” We agreed to help him and followed him into the structure. Immediately we saw Vex and Fallen fighting each other. I had to stay back and connect us to the same channel as the guy we were helping. As we were proceeding to the next area I asked the guy what his name was. “My name is Ven-259, I was created shortly after the Collapse and have been going on missions ever since.” “Huh, that’s cool.
