If you don't know who Monsanto is, they're one of the (if not the) biggest corporations that create genetically modified organisms and put them into our food along with pesticides and herbicides. They won't release to the public what effects these chemicals have on our health, and they have numerous amounts of lobbyists in congress, the USDA, FDA and other organizations so they can get away with what they are doing to our food. They also are involved in 51% of the entire worlds food supply. Become informed with this by researching Monsanto, GMOs, and watching documentaries like "GMO OMG" and "Food Inc"
-
I find it funny how people say "GMOs" as if the simple act of modifying an organism's genetic makeup is inherently bad. Not saying that Monsanto isn't evil, but to say that we shouldn't modify the genes of our food and ourselves because one group did it badly is silly.

You're just another ignorant, anti-science, person who doesn't bother to listen to experts.

Edited by Diecutman: 2/19/2016 11:30:12 PMDont forget about their cute little terminator seeds. That's a whole new evil. Their GMO seeds are patented and single generation, so you cannot replant from crops, and even if you could, they've made it illegal because they own the seed from crops by patent. In many cases, their seed also depletes the soil terribly, so unless you own a mega farm, your land is ruined after a single season.

http://responsibletechnology.org/10-reasons-to-avoid-gmos/ GMOs are really not that healthy...all the studies saying they're ok are paid for by the same company that's being tested...
-
Until we know all the long term effects of GMOs(we barely know any, and I'm sure there are many bad ones), I'm not going to stand on either side of the debate right now. I will say though, it's quite naive and dumb to say that GMOs are safe.
-
Hey, that's the company off of Futurama!
-
Monsanto is evil
-
Was going to aay watch food Inc, but you've already covered that
-
This is like the left's equivalent of climate change denial.
-
Monsanto isn't really a great company, but GMOs are hardly the end of the world.
-
You just noticed?
-
What does Monsanto have to gain by poisoning us? Also, conspiracy ftw.
-
Should be a lot more worried by how much their products are spreading, ge canola is the fastest spreading weed we have in Australia.
-
GMOS are safe, every major health, scientific, and food agency in the world says so
-
I bet you also think organic and GM are opposites.
-
I've seen both sides of the argument and until Monsanto or some independent party can run long term tests nothing will sway one way or the other besides what the government decides
-
I agree completely. Unfortunately I doubt you'll get much support or even notice on this site which is filled with teenagers and 20 somethings who enjoy their fast food far too much.

Read up on the Vanguard group

-
It is every major health organization in the world... Vs. op. Ill take my chances
-
You know you can eat food that's labeled organic rather than relying on other sources that aren't obligated to raise their food to your standards. Just don't eat the shit and find food somewhere else, dude.

*wipes hand; it smells of mortality* I love how you automatically assume it's poison, yet you have no idea what's in there. Also I'd like to point out that if it weren't for Genetic Modification the human race would be nowhere near what it is today.

Still, better than the good we had in the 1900's. Into the jungle, anyone?
-
I agree.
