You have two options. What do you do, and why? You can
1. Rinse it off with water.
2. Put baking soda on it.
Before opening this spoiler, please answer what you think is the right answer on it. This question has a bit of a backstory, so I'll drop it in a spoiler so there isn't a massive wall of text.
Today, in Chemistry, our class had broken off into groups of four to make alum crystals from aluminum foil, nearly pure sodium hydroxide (drain cleaner, very corrosive), and 18-molar hydrogen sulfide (sulfuric acid). Sulfuric acid is very corrosive in its 1-molar form. 18 moles is very dangerous. 18 times more dangerous than 1-molar. It's the strongest stuff available on the market. Anyways, the lab passed without incident. We managed to mix the aluminum and the drain cleaner without incident. Then, it was the other guy in our group(let's call him X)'s turn to mix the 18-molar sulfuric acid with equal parts water. Now, I must mention, mixing acid with water produces an extraordinary amount of heat (and an even stronger acid), so we had to mix the stuff in slowly. Anyways, X is tasked with pouring the stuff in with in very small increments. At this point, I'm going to give you an example of how strong this stuff is. We got a single drop on the outside of the GC we were pouring from, and I was tasked with cleaning that drop up. I grabbed 5 paper towels, and this drop burned through all 5 layers. Anyways, we're about halfway through pouring the H2SO4, when we hit an incident. Now, a little bit about X. He's a smart guy. Fun to be around. But does not pay attention. Didn't pay attention to the 30 minute safety lecture, as we will see in a second. As he's pouring in the H2SO4, his hand shakes, and a little bit splashes on his arm, the only part of his arm unprotected by the gloves, apron, and his long-sleeved shirt. Immediately, this guy, yelling in pain from the ultra-powerdul acid on his arm, makes a dash for the sink, instead of the beaker of baking soda labeled "FOR ACCIDENTS" like he should have. He turned the water on, and immediately the screaming got louder. I'm still not sure whether to laugh or to fell bad for the bad burn mark left by the stuff.
Rinse it with water. Always works with coca-cola. lol
