I see grimoire as more of a measure of time invested than skill. Mine is all pve. Ghosts, fragments, etc. All acquired from playing for extended periods of time. I wouldn't consider myself skilled for being above 4500. I just play alot

And you don't think time played is time played? Because someone can play for days and days and only do Kings Fall hard. The only Grimoire that will go up is Hive, and what little weapons I am using during that raid. Another example is someone can play pvp over and over and not be good and never win, so that Grimoire wont go up either. So are you sure its time invested?
