Ya I got 2 or 3 tapped by a first curse or hawkmoon (I mighta been slightly injured if I was only 2 tapped) when using tlw and I was pretty salty haha. Clearly, I -blam!-ed up lol. I mean it was med-close range but I still shouldn't have died. Tlw can reach really damn far even if the dmg does drop off a bit, it's still sick. I still don't think tlw is really op tho. I don't see it THAT much in crucible like I do mida (which also isn't really op, but if nething I'd think it's more op than tlw)
